Window/door lock switches quit working

Hey guys, driving today I hit my window switches to roll em down, and the driver side window wouldnt go down. The passenger side went down, but wouldn't go back up. I messed around with different switches and found that every window switch is either not working or is hit or miss, like a bad connection. In all, every switch except the power mirror button on the driver side panel is out, along with the window and lock switches on every other door. AND my rear window switch wont work.

Can anyone help??? maybe a bad ground somewhere? If it was a fuse they wouldn't be spotty, they just wouldnt work at all, right?

Thanks in advance!

You might try taking off the driver side window switch panel and cleaning all the connections. I've seen on other cars where if that panel stops making connections it can keep other door switches from working.

Specifically I had a Dakota that the driver side panel got flaky. The window switch on the passenger side would not work until I banged on my driver side panel.

I have heard it can be a relay or some sort of fuse box problem, I think. Mine stops working when it gets too hot outside. The only fix that I have read about is to buy a new one at $500 or so.

Well I took the driver side panel off and it was pretty dusty and grimey, so i blew it off and tried to wipe it down. Everything works for now, hopefully thats all it needed! Thanks for the replies guys.
