Window off track help?!?

Hey guys I'm hoping somebody can help me here.
I have a 2000 Toyota 4runner sr5 the right back window is off track it has been messed up for awhile ,it was up but from time to time it would slide down a little but I could usually get it to get back on track and stay up. I let somebody borrow it and they "accidentally" rolled that window down so now its stuck down . I got the door Panel off but I'm not sure what to do now, I can see the bottom of the window but it seems stuck couldn't get it to Push up and tried getting a grip with my hands from the top and couldn't move it. I can see the thing thats supposed to make the window go up and down but it's not grabbing the window til it gets about half way up. Is something missing Should there be another grip on the other side of the window that I'm not seeing?

Never mind

I think I figured it out. I'm new to this kinda **** but I found another piece at the bottom of the door that came off that holds the window in Place got it to roll uP but it popped off again just need to mess with it to get it centered up.

I looked through the factory manual but it doesn't show much detail for that. I think there was a separate body repair manual that probably had much more detail.

Ive done this a few times and it can be a PITA but I always fix it. Just get the window lifted and wedge it so its all the way up. You may need to wedge something in the window to hold it up between the window and seal.

Then go to the auto parts store and buy some auto glass epoxy or you can use gorrilla glue but its hard to get off. Clean the old epoxy off the window. Add the epoxy or glue to the track and then try to center it up and raise the arm with the button till its locked in place. Let it dry for 72 hours before using the window. And your good to go!

Yea I ive noticed what a pain this can be I kinda figured it needed some glue to hold it in place . I will go get some glue and let you know how it goes from there

had this happen to my 99 i used loctite "xtreme repair" adhesive, i put a bead inthe steel track then a bead in the part that goes on the window(cleaned glass and track with acetoneto make sure it had clean surfaces to bond to) and reinstalled window and left it up for 3 days to make sure the glue had set (says 24hr cure time) been holding for the last 1 1/2 almost 2 years

Been thinking of a way to repair mine too, there sound like some excellent ideas. Hopefully it will warm up enough this week to give it a shot.

I'd recommend using 3M Windo-Weld on it.
