Window Tint Cost - 1st Gen

Hey all you 1st Gen Owners out there - what did you all pay to have your windows tinted? I have not paid for tint in decades, so I'm getting "sticker shock" on the price quotes I've gotten. Seems kinda spendy to me.

I was quoted the following:

All windows:

$200.00 (3 year warranty)
$300.00 (Lifetime)
$400.00 (Lifetime - Top of Line Tint)

Shell only (excluding front 2 windows)

$175.00
$230.00
$330.00

I confirmed that this dealer has the tint cut by machine/CPU software. This should make the job a whole lot easier and faster (I would think). I'm sure they will say that the machine costs a lot, and thus passed on to consumer.

I'm in So. Calif. by the way. I'm SUPER picky, so I don't mind spending a little more, but $400 for the best quality? Really?

If you live in So. Cal., and can recommend a good tint shop (quality/price), please let me know. Thanks!

Sounds about right. What part of So Cal are you in? I took our smart car over to Mike's Tint shop in Orange and will be taking the 4runner over there to get the old, cheap tint replaced when I can afford it.

Thanks for the input, guys. If that is normal price for the job, I may just go ahead and get it done. I'm having a hard time justifying the expense because it already has factory tint. I just want it a bit darker.

i live in cincinnati ohio, and i got all my windows done with 5 percent for $200 with a lifetime warrenty. so 400 sound crazy to me. but im not from cally where a pack of cigs is 12 bucks lol

i paid 300 to have mine done 5 percent in the back and 32 percent on front windows and came with lifetime. best mod i did to my runner

I'm not sure why this should matter to you as an end consumer. Most companies use this type of tool to increase thier profits, not pass on discounts to customers(unless necessary to get their business in the first place).

And those prices seem right on par with what we pay here in New Mexico as well.

I'm in bakersfield and I just had my windows tinted in my outback subi with limo on the back five and 40% on the two front. Handshake warrenty $180.00
Seems like an ok deal where your at in OC Good luck with your tint!!

I remember back when I had my 1st gen I paid about 150 for all my windows about 2 yrs ago but it was in "down town la" I didnt real care too too much about the quality of it since it was just my weekender...
