Would the local dealer tint my driver and passenger side windows? I rather have it uniform with the rest of the windows on the car...

depends on the state laws

Most (if not all ) state laws prohibit tinting the driver and passenger side windows to the same level as the rear seat passenger windows for safety reasons. You would need to check your local state laws in regards to the amount of tint that is legal.

Some places will also tint beyond the legal limits providing you pay in cash, but if you get caught, you are responsible for removing the tint.

heres a full list of tint laws which vary state by state.

new mexico has the easiest tint laws as far as i know, people i know who have cars older than 97 have 5% all around and never get yanked, they just say they had it done a while ago.

Dealers will not tint windows in general, however if you go to a place that tints windows and pay em under the table you should be able to get the fronts done. My buddy has 20% all around on his 04 corolla and has yet to be pulled over for tint, he gets pulled over for his loud exhaust all the tiem though ... another friend of mine got away with 5% all around on a 95 civic for a year, and then it was like a $10 fix it ticket and he had to take the tint off.

4runners probably got like 20% in the back and i think 5 on the sides cause you can hardly see in nothing in the front, but its old and turning purple, has a tear in the back window. My accord has 5% on the back 3 but its fadin, luckiy i got a lifetime warranty on it. Im thinking of gettin 20% put on my front 2 of my accord, but no money owns me right now.

I'm in PA and I have mine tinted to match the back. Here in PA, the law states that the law enforcement officer must be able to see through the window. That's as specific as it gets. I got all of the literature on the subject before I went ahead and tinted it. Sure enough, you can see through the window so i'm not breaking any written law. I keep the paperwork in my glove compartment just in case.

15%

Yeah here in tha big TX the law is 32% in the front, and the back can be as dark as you want them. My runner came with the back windows with the factory tint. I had a local place put 15% all the way around. So it makes the back ones look REALLY dark, you can not see in, only if you have a flashlite looking in. The front are of course illegal...but hey WHO CARES. All of my vechiles have been illegally tinted and ive only had 1 ticket:D Heres a pic so you can tell

The other problem is that the color and reflection of aftermarket tints(film) will never quite match the factory tints (in the glass). Depends on how much of a perfectionist you are.

Because I feel that the factory tint isn't enough, either for security, looks, or functionality, I will be tinting all the windows on my Black 2003 4Runner.

Plans include:

Front: Tint @ 25%
Rear: Tint @35% on top of factory 25%
