Window Washer Fluid Light won't turn off!

Fluid got low, light came on... filled it up... and the damn light won't go out! Am I missing something? Another container for the rear? Bazar! Any suggestions?

Maybe, but i ripped out the wires at the pump that signal the light bc same issue.

It is a common problem.

Were me I would cut or short wires to eliminate it. Another great example of worthless crap added to vehicles so it can break, not work, cause problems later. TPMS, and pretty much Auto anything.

I didn't know any 3rd gen even had that feature. My 97 either doesn't have it or it doesn't work because I've never seen it.

I used a piece of masking tape to block the low wiper fluid light and the ABS light.
Eventually the low fluid light burned out.

I have a Canadian '97 Limited and I'm in the same boat as you.

I'd have to check my Original Owner's Manual to confirm... or simply try to locate the unlit symbol in the cluster somewhere.

If you turn the key to the On position without starting the truck most of the warning lights that still work should come on.

Thanks guys! I was hoping there was a simple fix... aside from "just kill it" lol.

Too funny, I've got a black sticker over the abs as well... since I killed that a couple of years ago!

I see it in my book too, but I don't see it on the dash. I'm unconvinced so far that the 97s have it.

I may just have to go wash my windows until it runs out. However, if it doesn't light up — I would still be left wondering if my bulb was just burnt out. Of course I would feel compelled at this point to go out and pull my cluster and eyeball the bulb too.

Where is it exactly on the cluster? Cause I've either never ran low on Washer Fluid or my bulb is burnt. This isn't one of the indicator light that lights up for me when I turn the ignition key.

Mine is on the bottom of the instrument cluster just to the left of the ABS light.

If it wasn't there, there will be no trace. Canada option dash had its own meter plate where the bulbs are and its own lens with the little icons on it. But if you have a metric speedo/odo, I would think it would be there. I don't see but one Canada option dash cluster set.

Just look at the bottom of your windshield fluid reservoir. If there is a sensor sending unit there, you have it. My US-based Canadian 99 had the light on. I just snipped the wires. Problem solved.

Sorry for the delayed response, kept forgetting to look when I was in the truck!

Apparently it's not one of the ones that light up when you turn the key on, but I know mine works as that's when I know it's time to refill. I could see it with a flashlight- the idiot lights are separated into sections along the bottom of the cluster. Starting from the left, the low WWF is the first one in the second group. Immediately to the right of the battery light (which is the last one in the first section)

I'm sure I have it too if you have it in your '97. I'm just curious to go find out if it actually still works (maybe one of the previous owners cut the wires)... but I'm one of those anal retentive vehicle owners that always keeps their vehicle's fluids topped up anyway.
