Windshield wiper de-icer?

I read in the specs section on the Toyota website that my sr5 comes with a windshield wiper de-icer. How do I turn this de-icer on? How does it work? Is it automatic? Thanks

Ok, so I looked at the manual, and I have no button. If this is supposed to be standard on my sr5, why dont I have it? And what should I do to correct this?

It says on the website it comes standard. Is it possible mine didn't come with this? I'm not seeing a button.

Interesting - wonder if that is a change from 10'? I believe the Canadian SR5 version came with it, but not the US version.

Then again their web site also said the 10' SR5 would have the SOS feature but it did not (early on), and they eventually changed their web site, then back again and included it.

I only trust what I see with my eyes these days.

When you look at your windshied from the outside do you see what looks like rear window defroster lines in the black part that the wipers rest on?
That's all it is.

Not that I can tell. The area looks completely black. The Toyota specs for the 2011 sr5 is where I found the standard specs

This is what the button should look like. This one is in a 2011 Highlander.

Not sure where you purchased your 4Runner, but I don't think South East Toyota (SET) equips their 4Runners with this option. I could be wrong. They do, however, like to add pinstriping, running boards, and other port-installed features and charge them at a premium price.

It is a 2011 sr5. I bought it in Bismarck, ND a couple weeks ago. I think they said they were in the same region as Kansas City, but i could be wrong. This feature would be really handy up here in Minot, ND, and I assumed it was on it. Thanks

OK here 2 more pix but of T4R's.

Pic 1 is a SR5 and it does not have the WINDSHIELD DEICER button and pic 2 is a LE and it does have the button. I checked several vehicle pics on CARMAX and this is the consensus.

Help with this anybody?

I have one on my '10 TE. The defroster lines under your wipers are really obvious, too.

If you don't have them, you don't have them. I know there are several windshields from Toyota for the 5th Gen, and I guess now I know why. You might be able to get it installed but it will cost you quite a bit of cash.

According to Toyota.com, the "Windshield wiper de-icer" is standard on all 2011 models.

It's not on my '10 SR5 ... too bad, that's a nice feature for the winter.

That's what I don't understand, if Toyota says it's standard on 2011 and I have a 2011 and it's not here. I will be calling my dealer on Monday to get an answer.
