Thread Resurrection on Wiper Blades

Just resurrected this thread. Purchased Bosch Icon's 17A in preparation for the NW Winter. I'll let everyone know how well they last. It's that time of year.

I had the Icons on mine for about a year, and they performed very well. My only (minor) gripe with this was how bulky the attachment point was.

The sun down here kills them pretty quickly, so I just decided to try these Tricos:

I haven't seen any snow with them yet, but they're damn good in the rain. Maybe a little better than the Icons were when they were new. It took a couple of good rains before they were broken in and they chattered just a little at first, but now I'm really happy with them.

Cheapest one's I can find. Sun down here tears them apart no matter how much they cost. No since in spending a bunch of money for something that only lasts a year anyways.

Round here in these parts the sun destroys blades. They're easy enough to change out, so I just keep a spare set in the back and when it starts raining (Happens a few times a year) I just swap them out. I use the $8 Goodyear ones from Costco and they work fine out here.

I've had a set of Silblades for around 6 years and they still work good. They were in the hot south heat most of that time too. Before getting these I was changing them out every year.

I've heard nothing but great things about the Silblades. Decided to go with the Bosch mostly because they have great reviews but also because of availability and my company discount with Baxter Auto. I was almost tempted to go with the Trico's. They had them in a display right at the door.

My 2¢. Goodyear Costco works great in rain, but they suck in cold snowy icy conditions.

I second the silblades. Had mine for almost 2 years and they still work really well. Lifetime warranty too I believe so if they start to get bad I'll just get a replacement pair.

Just replaced my no-name ones that were on there for who knows how long (At least 3 years since they came with the truck lol.) with some wal-mart cheap michelins. They work fine, and they'll see a lot of rain around here.

I just bought these Bosch Advantage's for the winter. Worked great in the rain yesterday.

For the $5-10 it costs, I replace the 2-3 times a year.

I bought cheapos from Oreilleys and its kinda like someone smearing butter on my windshield when it rains. In other words they suck, don't buy.

Just ordered a pair of Bosch Icon 17". Was tempted by the Silblade recommendations, but the negative reviews of their customer service from people who bought through Amazon ultimately put me off. Maybe next time, depending on how the Bosch's work out.

I have bought the least expensive 'made in USA' ones at the parts store and they work fine, and most importantly, they wear out at exactly the same rate as the $$$ fancy ones.
Caveat: California weather: no snow, no hurricanes, dust storms, or ice.

I've always had great luck with Bosch Icons. Although someone recently suggested the new Michelin blades which are supposed to be a cross between flat blades and winter blades.

So far the Bosch Icon's are performing well for our record breaking rainfall this winter. I can count on one hand the number of days I haven't had to use my wipers this winter:
