Windshield wipers

I used the Costco Goodyear ones. The were fine, but they changed the mounting clip thing and now it just looks bulky and stupid. I ended up getting some basic Ancos from Amazon and they work just as good.

On my older European cars that use a much longer wiper blade, these frameless blades SUCK. They skip and miss the very outer edges of where they are supposed to contact.

I've been running Valeo Ultimate (900-17-1B) all seasons for about 6-7 years and am just about to replace my second set (just really need one now but...) and I can still get 'em but now the shipping is almost as much as the wiper. So, I am in the market. The Valeos perform well in the northern winters and through summer (they have lasted multiple years) but there is so much choice out there that I might go for the Icon 17" which are readily available.......... @Rock_Rat, how have performed so far through the summer?

i have run two different types of PIAA blades and the rain-x blades, they all sucked! -yes i know i just said a PIAA product sucks, calm down take it easy its not the end of the world, im just calling it as i see it and trying to be fair. i like the bosch icons as well, although i do run them in the 18" variety. anyhow yeah like someone else said its a wiper blade dont over think it. but the bosch blades have lasted longer than the other two brands and provided better results too. -i would take a rain-x blade over the PIAAs though, PIAA should of just stayed with lights if you ask me, not to impressed with anything else they have, their horns suck, their wiper blades suck... their lights are second to none though

I was just about to recommend the PIAA Aero Vogue... What about the PIAAs did you not like? I live in the Seattle area and have run them for years, and they seem to last and work well.

They seamed to dry out fast and then streak and or not leave a clean wipe... Maybe I had a bad set idk my wife has ha set of PIAAs on her car that she has had for going on three years now and they are still awesome so idk

I have some slight streaking now but I'm sure they'll last through the winter. I'm pretty pleased with them. I'll replace them with the same.

Bosch are Incredibile!!! I've never had any wiper last so long streak free.

I say this from experience. When i bought my runner in 2010 is had a pair on, that was nearly 6 years ago and 110,000 miles in Texas hot asz sun, and they still don't streak. They cost a bit more even at wally world but are definetly worth it. :cowboy:

Oem last a long time. I'm currently running NWG Nippon wipers from Japan that I bought off of eBay. Great wipers!

However, what about the rear wipers? I don't see any Bosch Icons for the rear wipers on Amazon...? (if you list an alternate site, can you verify that's it's reliable/good customer service please?)

You can drill out the rivet that holds the rear blade on and then use any blade from the store. You just need to secure it with a nut and bolt. Super easy, I decided to do that so I could replace the rear blade anytime I wanted.

I use Bosche from Wal Mart. VERY happy with them and worth the extra cost. Bought my rear wiper from the stealership

That is a great idea for the rear wiper. I try to avoid using it because it streaks so badly and I really don't want to spend the money at the dealer on the part. I'll have to give this a shot. Any chance you could post a picture of your setup?

I have the bosch icons and they held up ok for the year I have had them on. They did good in the snow, and good for all other purposes
however , a friend up here in the mountains swears by the Michelin stealth

I ordered a set , but have not put them on yet, just to have on hand when the icons start having issues

the rear I just went oem, from amazon, cheaper than camelback at the time
that was early spring, haven't put them on either, but will before the rain and snow hits,

Definitely, I will get a pic up later today or tomorrow. Dont get too excited, its just a wiper blade with a bolt but I will get a pic for sure.

SilBlades no question for me. Had mine for 2.5 years I think and they're like new. Lifetime warranty I think also.

They're silicone so they leave a coating on the windshield like rainx. I haven't rainxed my windshield since I got these wipers but it still beads water like I just did it.

I'll buy another pair if I ever have to.

Thanks Rock_Rat for the update! But.............I decided to stay loyal to the Valeo Ultimates as they usually survive minimum two GWN winters......so, I ordered a pair and that made the shipping cost palatable. :frog:

I don't know how some say good about bosch. Those are all crap for me. They sticks to the glass and make noise every time it goes across the windshield no matter how hard it rains or how fast/slow the wipers are running.. Had Michelin and see no difference!

I want NWB (Nippon Wiper Blade) made for all toyota's from factory. Cannot find those on ebay any more. Silblades and rain-X latitude seems to be the best as I heard many good things about those two brands.

Anyone knows where to buy NWB?

I had the rain x ones on my truck for half of one winter, could not handle the snow and ice

Agree on the silicone blades! I've tried every manner of blades, and the silicone ones from PIAA are amazing. Going on a couple years with them and still flawless. When you clean your windshield, run the wipers for a couple minutes after the glass has dried and it reapplies it's silicone goodness all over you windshield again.

I haven't had too many issues with their winter performance either so long as your windshield is scraped of snow and ice before you take off. During storms in the mountains they handle everything pretty well.
