Winter or All-Terrain Tires

I have a 2006 Sport Edition 4WD and need new tires for the brutal Chicago winter. Should I go for winter or all-terrain tires? I will be swapping out performance summer tires each season.

since ur switching out for summer, try one of the bridgestone blizzaks,or Nokian Hakkapeliitta ,

If you're mostly street driving, then I'll strongly second the vote for the Nokian!
(most rally cars run Nokian for winter tracks, and for good reason)

I also vote for the Nokain's. Had a set of Hakki RSIs on my Accord. Were they best snow tire I ever had. Had most of them too.
They are designed and manufactered in the Nortic (Finland) where all they deal with is winter for most of the year and have been making a winter tire since 1930!!

Yup, what he said. But this is based on your willingness to swap summer/winter tire sets.

I've done this on 2 different Front WD vehicles I've owned, and the improvement is significant. You will start better, stop better, and turn better.

I had the Blizzaks, and they were good, no experience w/ the Nokians meself, but it does seem unanimous.
