wipers started acting up. i put them on intermittent mode,and they do what they want; go slow, go fast, stop and don't park in the correct spot. is it the switch acting up?

if the wipers work fine when you have them on and only acting up when you put them on it ntermitten then it can't be the fuse or the motor and points to the switch. you can test the contacts on the switch for continuity. it possibly could be the motor also you'll have to look at ewd for the wipers. and then check the power and countunuity at the respective terminals.

If they don't park in the correct spot, it is something in the motor, not the switch. It can probably be disassembled and cleaned to get functionality back...

My wiper blades get lazy in intermittent mode, sometimes not parking or completing their sweep. In any other mode/speed they function as expected.

If they don't park in the correct spot, it is something in the motor, not the switch. It can probably be disassembled and cleaned to get functionality back...

Guess I need to pull the motor and open it up, yay more work!

I can't be sure of that. The motor has a position switch which takes a 12V+ feed and opens it whenever the motor passes the STOP position. When the user flips the switch to off, the switch changes from the normal continuous 12V+ feed to the parking feed. When fed by the parking feed, the motor continues to operate until the park limit switch opens, ideally when in the STOP position, thus turning the system off until the continuous feed is again powered up.

So if you turn it off and it just dies where it is, that is a switch issue. It is not switching over to the feed coming through the switch in the motor. If it keeps running but then turns off and stops in the wrong place, that is an issue with the limit switch in the motor or possibly the wiper arm to drive shaft physical connection which can do some weird things. Make sure that is completely solid. It can fool you. Of course, that applies if one works and one doesn't. It could also be in the motor to linkage physical connection if it affects both.

I think stopping in the wrong place is more likely a physical linkage issue or the switch not going to the parking feed. I can see a limit switch not breaking the feed, but something weird has to happen for it to operate but at the wrong time...like the cam that pushes it is not fixed to the shaft. However, odds are it is PART of the shaft.

While anything is possible, I have seen lots of linkage issues but never that kind of limit switch issue.
