Wired up the sPod today...

Having already installed one Rigid 20" E-Series light bar, and with 2 more on the way with my Gobi rack as a built in and another bumper light, I thought it was time to clean up some of the wiring. I picked up an sPod and the installation was pretty simple and very clean. I chose to put all the switches in, as I am sure I will use them over time. Here is the interior shot:

I have a 2008 4runner sr5 4x4 and was also considering installing an SPOD for my power distribution needs. I came across your pic here which is great. I would be interested in a pic of where u installed the SPOD, where u routed the wires, and how you did the cut-outs for the switches on the dash. I don't think I can do what you did, since many of my switch blanks are already being used.

Sure, I will post one tomorrow. I just cut new holes for the switch blanks. I have changed up the switches since the first install. I will post those as well.

Basically, the wire loom that comes with the spod is easy to route through a hold about 3/4 of and inch through the firewall. Which I did and added new grommets, which is hard to photograph. But here are the new switches and the spod location in the engine bay.

Thanks for the quick response and the pics. Not sure if I have the room to install SPOD on driver's side. I have a small black box 3x2 inches (approx) that is right behind the fuse box. Not sure what it is, but it would interfere with SPOD install on that side. I may be able to move that box. If not, I may have to install SPOD on driver's side instead, but that might cause trouble because of the length of the wire harness that the SPOD folks supply. I don't know how long that harness is.

Question: Your holes for the switches look good. How did you cut them? Looks better than I could do with a dremel.

You are welcome, the harness is about 7 feet long, so you have loads of room and you can specify a longer harness if needed. The holes were easy, just marked out on tape, a bit of patience with a razor knife and you are good. As always, measure twice, cut once.
