No feed back on people that did full floor option with a sunroof ? Noise ? Room when sunroof tilted up ? Im sure there's plenty of room with all the thought these get built with. Any feed back is good.

i'm pretty sure the sunroof hits the rack if the full length flooring option is used. that configuration is for folks without a sunroof really, or those who dont give theirs a second thought. wind noise is there for sure, just no away around it, you're going to hear 7 feet of tube on your roof. BUT, a fairing kills the noise and even a light bar up front greatly reduces the noise.

I have a full length floor. My truck came with a aftermarket sunroof. personally, i rarely if ever use a sunroof. if i make it pop up and vent it will hit the rack. My sunroof is designed to come down under the roof and slide back. so it can open that way. i actually put a switch inline with my sunroof power feed to kill the power to the sunroof so it will not accidentally open.
Noise, it will be there. It was driving me nuts when i first put it up. It was naked. No crossbars, no fairing, no 41.5" LED light bar. it had a hum @ 30-45 MPH. take into consideration its a FULL length floor with no removable sunroof insert. removable might not have a hum.
Hum will go away once the LED bar went into place
great excuse to have one!Hum will go away if you make a fairing. there is a thread on here about it. search and you will find it.
if your ears are real sensitive to wind noise. then you need to have a pure stock 4runner. tires, lights and roof rack will make your life miserable.
Look at my truck, its gonna make some noise LOL

I've got the removable sunroof option. When I first mounted the rack and drove it home (no lightbar), the wind noise was noticeable but not overbearing.
Then I mounted the lightbar, left the sunroof insert in, and the wind noise went to ZERO.
I have since removed the sunroof insert and no noticeable change. When the insert is bolted in, you cannot tilt the sunroof, it will hit.
And I must say, the craftsmanship that Josh puts into the moving parts is unreal. I was and still am so impressed with the quality level. I stare back at my truck EVERY time I get out of it.
I bought an old Yakima fairing to complete the rack, and honestly, I don't know if I'll even put it on because there is already ZERO wind noise. Although I think it'll look way more badass once it's on. :thumb:

See, And this is why I Love TOYOTA people Helping Toyota people. Thanks for all the feed back guys it really helps me plan out my build. I love using my sunroof and wanted to know all the info that you guys have shared. I'm almost ready to place me order. If only I was closer it would be easier. But time will tell.

I would like a ladder too. Like Brando commando I ordered a Yakima 44" fairing yesterday. I don't know if I'm going to put it on. Since I didn't notice any more noise

If I had time to develop a ladder, I would do it. Unfortunately, I barely have time to mow my yard around current orders. The other ladders on the market all seem to play well with my rack though.

Hire someone to mow the lawn. better yet concrete it all, no grass.

Went camping today with my RTT and Josh's rack. Lots of conversation about the tent and loads of comments about the rack. Everyone about the rack was it's a real nice quality piece! I agree.

About how high is the top of this rack on your setups? A height above the roof will work too. Please note your tire and suspension setups as well if it isnt in your signature line too since everyone will probably be different. I really want to order one of these but go in parking garages a good bit so I need to be sure it will fit.

Roof height with rack on 285's and 4" rear lift
I recently installed my Whitson Metalworks roof rack and it is awesome! I use a parking deck daily and it's advertised 6'8" clearance. I make it in/out with no problems. I did hit on the way out of one entrance due to a hill/ decline or slight grade/ drop on the way out, that raised the rear a hair. It barely scrapped the last 8" of the rear portion on the rack. It left a little paint that came right off. Guess I used it as a slider lol. Something to keep in mind and account for. I use the flat exit now. My truck is pretty tall though. I have a 1" body lift, 4" rear lift and 33" mud tires
My highest point is the rear pass corner at 6' 6"

You asked a very very good question. One that i had when i ordered my rack.
I am at 6'4", with the hi lift mounted up its at 6'8" because of the hook on the hi lift.
factory rack with add on pipe holders made me come in at 6'4"
I have FJ Cruiser springs, daystar 2.5/1.5 spacers, and 295/65/18 = 33.2" tire
