It varies from front to rear but for the most part its around 1-1/2" on the edges and as close as 1/4" in the center near the sunroof.

'Preeshate it Morris! Just wanted to let folks know I'll be in the Birmingham area October 10-13 "IF" anyone was on the fence and worried about shipping one of these. I'll be going to Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds for the Vintage weekend and am happy to coordinate pickup 'FO FREE somewhere near the park!

Does anyone have some good pics of light bars mounted on the front? I'm starting to look at possible light bars and I'd love to see how others did theirs.
I saw some pics Jeepster posted with a light bar, but I'm hoping for something close-up.
What I'm really trying to decide on is if I want to use a single light bar and set it behind the vertical support posts, or if I want to try and squeeze two smaller light bars in the two gaps, pushed further forward.
Thoughts?

fitting one behind the front supports is going to be tough, if not impossible, especially with a 40" bar. To fit a 40" bar up front there needs to be no vertical supports. I offer to fit the bar to the rack DURING the build to make things easy. Otherwise, your best bet would be to put smaller bars in the openings, which was what I planned to do way back when I designed the front. My favorite setup to date was an approx. 30" bar a customer supplied, it fit great and allowed the use of two supports on the sides leaving just enough room for a set of rigid dually's or similar that could be aimed outwards.
edit* if you chopped the two center stanchions out (which is quite a job) you could get a 30" in there pretty well

texted you one Morris, i think it was a totron 26"(?) single row bar, close to 30" with brackets, seemed to be a good bar to me.

What is the spacing between the middle risers and the outside risers?

I'm not sure how that would fit. It's pretty tight on the vertical side, too. That's why I was hoping to see how others had mounted theirs.

The double row is tight for sure, they really need to sit just forward of the top bar and some custom brackets made. The brackets that come with them are kinda bobo and cast aluminum. Some simple steel or stainless steel L brackets would be super easy and solid, as well as lower profile.

Yeah, going to have to consider those. I've got an idea of how to make it work, just gotta figure out the mount brackets. If anyone else has done it, post em up!
I ordered a pair of these for my WMW roof rack. They sit too tall for my liking with the original brackets. All I did was re-drill the L brackets about an inch closer to the base so that the overall height of the light sits within the frame when they're mounted. I'll try to get a pic tonight.
Custom L brackets are also an option, as was mentioned previously. I figured I'd try the easiest route first.
