Won’t Start in the Mornings

This is the second morning I’ve gone out to my car and had the engine not turn over at all. It’s been about three weeks since the last time. No lights were left on. Temps were in the low 30s and the car was parked for about twelve hours. In the time span though I also had a couple days where it wasn’t driven for 24 hours and everything was fine.

I had the alternator output checked and it showed it was fine so I’m not sure if it could still be that. I got a new battery in July after I got it.

Anyone have any other ideas??

Check engine light on?

Possible culprits include bad wire connections, fuel pump and/or system, ECU Main fuse....

the 3rd gen's have a problem with the brushes in the starter that intermittently fail. the car will click once and nothing will happen. after a few tries, it will start (maybe).
could this be it?

Contacts are the most common "click" only issue.

Tapping starter and trying to start will sometimes get it to fire. Then you know it's the starter.

Lights not on. I have an ultra gauge and haven’t had codes but wouldn’t hurt to check those things out. Thanks

It does click once. Wouldn’t start after multiple attempts but it starts right up with a jump. Doesn’t need to charge at all

Check the voltage on the battery.
Should be 12.6 volts.

Would the starter get any help from jumper cables on the battery? I wouldn't think so but electronics are not my jam.

My thought would be this...either your battery is dead, not likely since it is newer but possible, OR you have bad connections on your battery terminals and need to take them off and clean them up a bit. This would explain why the jump works...cables are getting good metal bite on your terminal leads.

Yeah I’m also wondering if it’s something with valves or wires and whatnot. We did clean them when we hooked it up but you never know. We have a place here that specializes in batteries and this type of stuff and they’ll look at it for free so I’m going to take tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully it’s something easy and simple
