would like to add subwoofer to jbl system without a factory sub

Hello everyone,

I have an 04 4runner with the jbl stereo but it does not have a factory subwoofer.

I'd prefer to keep the headunit and am wondering if it is even possible to drive an aftermarket sub (with aftermarket amp obviously) with it.

I haven't been able to find any threads with someone doing the same.

I'd appreciate any help I can get and will post up some pics when I'm done.

It's definitely possible, you would just need to get a line out converter

Yep. I recommend a line driver. It does the same job as a line out converter but also bumps up the voltage going to your amp.
