Im looking for something more than 2.5 - 3 inches though.. and I haven't been able to find anything. Does anyone know if there is such a thing?

bracket lifts will work but you will have the cut the front crossmember in order for it to fit.
 
Aren't 4Runner and Tacoma rear ends not compatible at all since one uses leaf springs vs coils on the Runners.
 
First, Tacoma and 4Runner suspension components are not compatible. Second, the IFS front suspension on 3rd gen 4Runners will not handle more than 2.5-3.5" of lift. Even at 3.5", you'll have very little suspension articulation. Think of it this way, the more suspension lift you have, the less suspension travel you'll get.

I'm running a 2.5" spacer up front and will probably go with Tundra coils and shocks with topout spacers at some point. That will yield a true 3". Many people, myself included, believe that's as high as the IFS will go. Now with a SAS, that's a completely different story!
 
if you really want more than 3" of lift, then do a 2.5" spacer lift and a 2" body lift or something.
 
Big Lift

As far as the "bracket lift" goes, the 6" will work. It is supposed to keep the front end within factory alignment spec's, but rarely does. It achieves this by lowering th front differential, exchanging the spindles with new ones, and lowering the mounting points of the struts. Fabtech, Pro-Comp, Trailmaster, and Tuff Country make these kind of lifts that will fit on the '95.5 to 2004 Tacoma and subsequently the FRONT ONLY of the '96 to '02 T4R.

The problem would be getting 6" of lift out of the rear of a third-gen T4R. Many companies offered 4" bracket kits for the 2nd-gen T4R, like Skyjacker and Superlift, but these will not fit without a good bit of modification due to differences in geometry. Longer links, coils, panhard bar, and bumpstops along with a good eye for geometry would be needed to achieve such a rear lift.

I have installed these lifts on Tacomas and I have one word for them: SUCK. They suck to put on, suck to work on, and suck in ride quality. Not to mention they are extremely expensive. Plus, one can only fit about a good 33" tire, and they still rub the bumper and body seam under even slight compression. Do like the other members say, a 2.5 inch spacer lift and a body lift of 2-3 inches will clear a 33" easily and a 35" with a little bit of rubbing.
 
SC96runner over on yotatech has the trailmaster kit on his.

you could end up doing LC coils and 1.5 inch rear spacer and front 6 inch.

you are better off converting the rear to leafs

but the thing is, once you cut up the front cross member, going back to stock is going to be freakin near impossible or hella hard.

and oh yeah you are looking at around 2000 or more to get it to work.

From what I've read, bracket lifts will not work on an IFS 3rd gen Runner, or would require a TON of custom fabrication. The max suspension lift you'll want is ~3" or so. The remaining can be accomplished with a body lift.
