Would you put a Confederate Flag decal on your car?

Coming from Alabama where the flag in question would be ill advised no matter what race you are; I have to say be careful. I wouldn't rep it for the simple fact my wife is black and the flag is looked down on around here.

Even though you're own State flag is a version of the star & bars. .

its really not that bad in Alabama, the Mobile city seal has the Confederate flag on it and is a predominately African-American area.

i still say though that there is only one flag and it is the American Ensign

I flew The Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia on the left, American flag on the right and the Lion of Judah smack dab in the middle. Add to that Dead stickers, a gun rack and my dreads blowin out the window as I drove down the road blasting Public Enemy! Damn I miss that truck.

Sounds like all you were missing was a Coexist sticker and a Jesus fish. :D

Pride for some, racist statement for others to put fear into people by the KKK and Nazi Party. I live in Alabama and was born in Virginia. I am southern and black but the flag doesn't bother me ignorant people do. I know the history of pridie and the history of hate used by some. So its yuor choice and a free country.

I don't have enough southern heritage to slap a rebel flag on anything I own, but if I did I would. As I'm from the first country in America edit:Lone Star State, I WILL one day have a Come And Take It flag and Lone Star Flag stickers for the runner, though.

Oh, and to answer your question, the American flag should be on the left hand side of the viewer.

Texas was a country before it was a state.

Sure it was, but I don't understand the assertion that Texas was "the first country in America". Surely the Aztec and Mayan empires count as countries? If we're just counting North America, then Spain, France, Great Britain, Russia, and several other nations were all "countries in America" before Texas was a gleam in it's fathers eye. If we're just counting countries of european provenance established entirely on this continent, Texas (1835) is still only the third "country in America", after the US (1776) and Mexico (1810).

So I'm confused.

"...the first country in America The United States."

Is that better, professor?

Nope. There are no countries in the United States, just States, and the Republic of Texas was not the first independant nation to join the US. The Vermont Republic has that distinction.

Not trying to snark on you, but for a guy as proud of your state as you are, you really oughta be a little more aware of it's history.

I'm not saying Texas is – as of now – its own country and I was unaware of the Vermont Republic (and that its existence renders my statement false). To be truthful, "...the first country in America" was something I overheard someone say – and I liked it (and the person who said this wasn't even Texan). I'll admit my inaccuracies up to here.

Aside from my ignorance of the Vermont Republic, you nit picked about my use of "America" and later "The United States." For you to explain to me that the United States does not contain any countries shows that you believed my idea of The United States probably resembled something like this:

This is not the case.

A few poor choices in words and a chronological mistake – neither of which scratch the surface of Texas and its rich history. I'm sure you'll sleep well tonight knowing you've corrected someone on the internet.

Also, sorry to thread-jack, Clemson.

The find the shear ignorance of texans when it comes to their state both comical and inspiring. I wish more people would have pride in where they hail from.

"I didn't know that, thanks for the correction" would have sufficed, but I guess we're not operating at an adult level here, are we? You're welcome, for what it's worth. Take your new knowledge and do some good with it. :lmao:

I wish more people were proud to be an American and stop the BS and hatred of others that don't hail from your state. Americans fly national flag the stars and stripes forever
