WRITE UP: Hard climate control buttons fix.

So the past year I've had a hard time trying to change the setting on my climate control specifically new / recirculate air button.
This is a write up on how to specifically fix this problem or any other type of push button fix. (iPhone have this exact same problem, learned from doing them)

REMOVE BOTH SCREWS

IF YOU WANT YOU CAN DISCONNECT THE WIRE AND HAVE MORE ROOM TO WORK. DO THIS.

Once you have the climate control system is out and the screws have been removed by the back casing.
Remove the housing completely by placing thumb and index finger and wiggle side to side and pull up slightly on the plastic lip. Once it move up the cable pulls out with ease

Remove the 4 screws that hold the printed circuit board in.

Remover the black thumb nobs off the controls by pulling firmly away from the unit.

Use a flathead screw driver to take the circuit board (BE VERY CAREFUL) not to break the circuit board. There are 6 little tabs holding it in. Gently pry each out little by little and just work your way around.

As you see not on the front of the circuit board there are small round black buttons. These push in to signal a change to the hvac system.

What I did was apply a small bit of super glue on the white tab to help lessen the gap in between the button and the switch.

Well after all that work I got it back together and it made no difference. Actually it made things worse I believe. I am going to take it apart and see what I did wrong or how I can improve.

I pressed my AC button too hard and it cracked and fell off. Going to need to super glue it when i get the motivation. For now its just always blowin AC. Looking forward to more pics

Haha I was reading through your write up thinking this is easy and I feel comfortable tackling this one. Then I got the end and saw it didn't work...haha Hopefully you can get it working and figure out a permanent solution, but mine is super finicky. The mornings it works perfectly, but the hotter it gets the less it works. I think that is due to the clear pieces being a softer plastic and becoming more elastic, thus not creating a solid connection.

So I ended up taking the glue off. Added a small piece of sticky material to the button, but it was too thick and already had the button depressed.

So I took it all apart, plug it in and tried to diagnose the problem. I believe it lies in the small white thin cable strip. It might be damaged so I've got to figure that out or if I can get another. In some positions it works great while some others it does not. Yet it's still random.

EDIT: I am a genius!!! Fixed and it works awesome!!! Time to put everything together and finish the wrote up
