Should be fairly easy install. After the second ballast failure on my Acura's fogs, I weather-proofed the ballasts with silicone and electrical tape, then mounted them to the frame with double sided tape. Everything else was plug and play, assuming you buy the correct kit. Not knowing what you have and what size our fogs are (I've had the truck less than a week!), I can't be much more help without photos.

Just don't mount the bulb and ballast so close to each other or they will die/burn out easier.

could you expand on that kind sir? i must have failed to read my instructions.

seriously, ive gone through 2 sets of HID's...

Won't really matter I do not believe - at least it didn't in my case. Used several different mounting locations without much change in performance - they all died within a 12-14 month period if not sooner.

Also, the factory ballasts in my heads were mounted to the headlight housing itself, much closer than my aftermarket ballasts on the fogs I referenced earlier.

I was told by some HID junkie that they needed to be vented well, or you will be going through them quickly.

If you can wait to Xmas, I'll take some pics of mine. I think the power is 7000K, but I got them as a gift, so I cannot say for sure.
