WTB: 2nd Gen. 4Runner

Hello, I'm new to the forum here and have been looking in my area to buy a 2nd Gen. 4Runner. I have this one that I found thats about 2hrs away and was wondering if I could get some feedback on whether it is a good deal or not.

'94 5-speed V6. 138k. Looks to be in somewhat decent condition, interior is clean, no major body damage, but I noticed some rusting around the bottom of the doors which I would plan to fix in addition to having any preventative maintenance done if I get it. Listed on CL for $2500, and it is significantly cheaper than others of even greater mileage in my area. Ad says it runs and drives perfectly and looking to go check it out later this week. Planning to pay a mechanic to throw it up on a lift and have a look at it. So, lemme know what you guys think. Tear it apart. Tell me if I am an idiot.

Thats a way interesting price... It does look in decent shape, I would say the mileage is accurate as the drivers seat is not torn too bad on the entry side...(all i have seen with higher mileage are torn, including mine...lol)... and from a dealer..wow...take it out and drive the crap out of it... if its solid and it runs good the 4x4 works properly it's a steal... I have seen rusted much worse for more.. ask him how long its been there.. if its been there long I would have an extra hard look at it

If your mechanic says it is in good shape than go for it! Make sure the mechanic does a compression test. Things to take note of. If you are buying this to build an offroading beast, some 2nd gen aftermarket parts can be hard to come buy. The 2nd gen is not the most popular platform to build on (not a bad platform, just not popular). The 3.0 V6 is not a powerhouse of an engine. Again, not a bad engine, just not a powerhouse.
