Man, finding a nice 4Runner that meets my requirements is like finding hens teeth.

I searched for 5 years for mine... when I found it, it was basically in my backyard. In SF less than an hour away with on 57k original miles at the time. Since then I've driven it less than I expected. Since I've had it I've only been up to the snow twice, and haven't been to hollister hills yet with it. I should just get a subaru.

Oh man, that is exactly what I DON'T want to hear. :dammit:

I've been looking off-and-on for about 3 months, but hardcore for 2. EVERY truck I've found that I'm interested in has sold within 48hrs. I had no idea.

2000 4Runner V6 5spd - YotaTech Forums

About twice as far.

I havent really been trying to sell it, but everything is for sale for the right price.

In the last 5k miles ive done:

-Tundra front brakes
-3 inch lift w/ diff drop (bilstien HD's with toytec-eibach fronts and 890 rears)
-new sway bar links
-New pioneer AVH-P4200 indash dvd player wired for ipod and sirius
-Polk Audio 6 1/2"DB component speakers with kicker amplifier in the front and 5 1/4" built in tweeters in the rear.

However the CVs gave out about 250 miles after the lift and i have yet to replace them. I dont have any pics of its current state but they can be taken if you are interested.

Currently 123-125ish for mileage.

probably around 8500-9000$ depending on stereo stuff left in.

I'm still feeling up to the task. At this rate I might as well start looking for the Ark of the Covenant too as it will likely be easier to find. :rant:
 
I have a 99!

Hey, I was just reading all these posts. Sounds like a seriously tough time. But...I have a possible.

I have a 99 SR5 with 120,000, 5sp, 4WD. CD Player, sunroof, and rear window all funcitonal.

It is an east coast car, so the front bumper is rusty, but the rest of the body looks amazing. I've never wheeled in it. I'm actually taking to a dealer tomorrow to have an inspection done, trying to figure out where it might need some work, if any.

Let me know, I'm in Estes Park, CO, I'm assuming you're in Colorado as well?

That first one, even tho I'd have to change some things (wheels/wood trim), do some work (timing belt), and learn to live without (diff lock/sunroof), is growing more attractive by the minute.

The second is simply way too much money (overpriced by at least $8K IMHO).

I either need to change my expectations or accept the fact that the amount of time I'll need to put into this is going to be considerably more than first expected.
 
I used to search for the perfect 77-79 trans am. spent yrs. finally found it 3 blocks from me in a basement lol!

had to sell it in a fire sale when I bought the house and needed $ asap for a rehab job that spiraled out of control

I am currently trying to find the certain color & yr combo of kawasaki zrx also

hunting for that odd duck combo is dumb luck imho

something you are willing to pay top dollar for some jerk is gonna get for a song and a dance cauze their dad is trading it in or a buddy needs to sell- the odd ducks never seem to hit CL,ebay or the paper when you are looking for them
