I'm so glad I found this site. What a treasure chest of information.

Who knows if this works, but worth a shot. I've been searching Craigslist for some time, looking for my first 4Runner, but it's mostly poor, horse-whipped trucks with salvage titles, or private sellers asking the dealer retail price. Anyway, The idea of building an adventure vehicle has been on my mind for years, and I have narrowed it down to what I think is perfect for me.

- Has to be 3rd Gen 6 cyl
- Highly prefer silver, black, or white
- Highly prefer less than 200K miles
- Prefer 2001-2002
- Prefer 5-speed, but not getting my hopes up about that one
- Some mods are fine, but I'm not looking for a rock crawler
- Willing to travel some distance, within reason
- Must not smell like baby poop

That's about it. Hopefully someone near my city has a little gem that needs a loving home...then I can start contributing to this site.

Thanks everyone, and thanks for creating this site.

Yes I did look dozens of post down, and I am aware of the 2001-2002 5-Speed unavailability, thanks to this site, and the 3rd Gen Buyers guide. I'm also aware that Colorado market values are higher than national averages, and I have to factor in the cost of travel. Nice attack. Did it feel good?

Wow, if you think that's an attack, then is your skin made of tissue paper? Sorry if your preferences contradicted each other.

In my search, NM's market is higher than COs (as evident by the one you posted) due to lower supply but whatever you want. That 4runner I posted is already sold.

No contradictions in my wishes for a vehicle. Simply trade-offs between buying options. Pointing me toward the buyers guide would have been the welcoming thing to do. Hopefully there is a less arrogant member here who is willing to sell their 4runner.
