WTB: 99-00 LTD 4x4 Auto e-locker <200K <$6000 Omaha, NE

Since I've reached my minimum post count, here goes nothing...

I'm looking for a 3rd gen (99-00) T4R 4x4 with an automatic trans and e-locker. Preferably below 200K miles and below $6K. I'm in Omaha, NE so, closer the better. Color of vehicle should be silver or white but ultimately is not really that important. No rust please! I'm actively searching Craigslist, AutoTrader, cars.com and good old ebay but would prefer obtaining the vehicle from someone on the forums here!

Thanks! I remember seeing that while doing research and even though the description says 4 speed auto pics show a stick shift and it doesnt have the e-locker, unfortunately... I think everything Im expecting the vehicle to have, I might have to accept that it will cost a bit more than what I initially asked... Will keep looking...

It was worth a try. Have you tried cargurus.com? I use that one when I am looking lately and they seem to usually have a better selection then auto trader. Also you can find one with all your requirements in Detroit or Chicago but then there is rust up there. Just an idea if money is tight. Some of those trucks we would pay 9k here in Lincoln Omaha area and there like 4-6k just need to get under them before you buy. Just my 2 cents.

totally agree!! the market in Lincoln/Omaha is high. that's why i recommended he buy on the forum.

Agreed, I have been looking there as well and they do seem to have more hits and I like the way their site is the most.

Yeah, I have been also leaning more towards this... At least this way there is more of a chance the vehicle is better taken care of, since you care enough to join a forum to begin with... Friend request accepted! It would have been nice to have a section on the forums that list members by State and have them automatically be a part of a group or whatever...and maybe there is, I've just not been here long enough to know for sure...

there is NO question that the 4runners on this site are better taken care of.
and yeah you can search the community in the top drop down menus. there is a midwest section but that includes like chicago and areas like that as well. so i just typed in Nebraska and barely pulled anything up. Glad I came across your post. maybe we'll see some more local members on this feed.

Yeah they are. My next truck will probably come from the south or in a money pinch I might head to the Chicago area. Yea Lincoln members are in short supply even though there are a good couple of runners around town.

I see lots of 3rd gens around here. Met a guy who had a nice Tacoma. But then I see a lot of soccer moms who have brand new 5th gens. Grrrrr. But if one has the money, it's definitely a great all weather vehicle here. Safe.

With a book value above $6000 for what you are seeking, keep your eyes open and be patient. I paid $6300 at a deale for my '99 one owner, Toyota serviced Limited with healthy Michelin LTX M&S's. Haven't seen a deal like that since.

See more SR5s than anything. Big variation in vehicle condition and refresh requirements (tires, maintenance items, etc).

The search is over, here is the newest addition to our family! Drove 160 miles to get her and she's EXACTLY what I wanted! Paid $5250 out the door and she's equipped with e-locker! Next week changing the oil, getting a tune up, getting a new radiator and external transmission cooler as a preventative measure then extending the breather for starters... Now the real fun begins!

It's got 228K miles so a bit more than what I prefer but it does have Toyota maintenance records and engine is in good shape. With continued maintenance, I'm hoping to see 300K and beyond! After a good synthetic oil change and coolant flush (replace the radiator and install external transmission cooler) I'm concentrating on the suspension.
