WTB: 99'-'02 4R, Auto, 4WD, etc... <$8,000

I think this story has a happy ending. On our way back from the middle of Virginia, picked this up for $4800 with 112,000 miles on it.

It's got a few bumps and bruises and the paint could definitely use some attention, but I think it'll clean up pretty nicely.

Do me a favor and keep a lookout for another one just like that. I have the same budget that you did (less than $8000), looking for that same thing. where did you find out about it?

Well, we made it home safely, no incidents, 200+ mile trip. Long day!

Goose - once you get good at searching autotempest.com, you'll find one. I've been looking everyday for the past 3 weeks or so. This one was listed at $6300 but could tell they were eager to sell. Like I said, a little rough around the edges, but should clean up nicely. And this one will be the family hauler not the garage queen, so actually better that I won't fret so much about keeping it clean I knew it was the right one as soon as I saw the dented front bumper.... I still have my original OEM bumper with brand new fog lights sitting in the garage from when I installed the Shrockworks bumper on the old 4R. That'll fit up nicely!

Guys,

My wife got into an accident and totaled our Subaru wagon. I sold my '99 4R a few months ago, and I think we're going to replace the Suby with a 4R.

Looking for a 99-02, auto, 4wd. Price range is sub $8k. Bonus points for leather interior, a recent TB service, and sport package or locking diff. Would like to be as close to 100k miles as our budget will allow. Needs to be well cared for.

This will be the family car, so don't want something highly modified. I'm looking for exactly what I had, only for less than eight grand

Let me know what you've got, or if you see anything on Craigslist, etc. I'm in PA, but willing to travel for the right deal, or ship if needed. Cash in hand, rental car goes back on the 18th, so we'll be buying before then.
