Ladies and gentlemen,


I am sick of looking for a 1999 Toyota 4Runner Highlander Edition. So, I have decided to place a finders fee out there for leads. $100 to the person that finds the 4Runner I end up buying.

Has to be black
Prefer gray interior
Prefer Auto Transmission
Rear locking axle a huge plus

No 2000 or 2001. 1999 only. After spending a lot of time on autotempest.com and adhuntr.com, these sights are never truly running correctly, and I started noticing that they don't pull all of the 4runners in. For instance, I searched buffalo, NY for one a few days back. with autotempest and adhuntr, a 4runner did not pull up on either, and i tried searching 4runner, 4 runner, 4-runner, and forefunner/forrunner/fourrunner.

No, i'm not looking for a runner post-build (Though its an impressive build and turned out great). I am looking for it in it's stock form. I have $8000 set aside for the car, and another bit for my build. Mileage is not a huge issue at this point, but rust is. Aside from the bumpers, which are usually bitten by rust, I am hoping to find one with no rocker cancer.

If ANYONE can help, Please. I am getting impatient, and running out of time. Going to Tennessee in a few weeks, and need to get the ride, mod it, and take it out with my friends for a bachelor party weekend of wheeling and casinos.

I found what you are looking for. It is not listed yet online because he just got it today. It has everything but no locker. Miles are at 175. Other than that it is VERY NICE!!!!

You're out of your mind. There's no difference between 140K miles and 175K miles. If its a good truck with good records, don't pass it up. If it doesn't have good records but its priced right, you still can't go wrong.

No difference but 35,000 miles , I don't blame him I wouldn't buy a truck with 175k unless it was a sweat deal . 100k was my limit when I was buying a 3rd gen .so I must be totally crazy !

I would have about 178k on it by the time I drove it home too. If it was $5000 I would get it, and do an engine swap with the extra cash. But most likely the guy wants $7000 and the. I'll have to put another $2-3k in repairs, which leaves even less to accessorize the car. I just lost out on a 1999 highlander with locker, one owner with clean car fax and 106,000 miles for $6500. That WAS a deal. So I'll wait for something like that to come around.

True...Hopefully. I know I might have to get the belt and pump replaced, possibly injectors and such. But I dont want to get a 4runner and dump a bunch of money into unknown repairs over the first couple years. I am planning some mild mods, and would like to knock them out right away. I know Ill have unexpected repairs down the road, but need to try and avoid them right off the bat.

I found this exact same car in Chicago, but mileage is unknown. Selling for $8000. If its close to 100,000 miles, I will probably grab it. Dealer wont email or call me back though.

That's not bad. I'll run a carfax on it tomorrow to see if it has been wrecked. The sport hood oem replacement is much more expensive, so this thing may have been in an accident. I'll follow-up after I get the vin. Thanks!

It's your truck, buy what you want. But you're getting too hung up on mileage. It really doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot of these trucks. Find one with good maintenance history and don't second guess yourself.
