WTB: Beautiful Black T4R 2004-2009 Sports Edition

Trying to find my son his dream 4Runner as a surprise. He is a member of this community...I'm just a mom trying to find this for him. Must have:

Non-smoker
Cloth seats
4x4
V8 (preferred)
Excellent condition
Preferably under 100,000 miles

Will travel to pick it up. If anyone has any suggestions on how to find this, please let me know! Thanks!

Honestly if you want a specific product (eg a 4Runner) then the last place to WTB is from any 4Runner / Toyota website or forum.

This is because most people you meet here will not offer you a "good deal" compared to what you could find through other means. The reason for this is because they already have you. Basically anyone with a black 4Runner that meets your description knows you really really really really really want to buy it.

You would be much better off searching Craigslist or Cars.com or something else. I like Craigslist and selecting private seller only.

And why does it need to be black? Kids should be thankful for any free gift car regardless of the color. Frankly black is the color that holds up the absolute worst unless it has been expertly taken care of. I have a black 4Runner. The color scratches super easy compared to silver. I have basically babied it and taken care of the paint but that is super rare. Also the 4th Gen's didn't really have very good black paint in my opinion.

+1 on black.... the worst color to own IMO... shows the most scratches of all car colors..



the ideal color for most with these SUVs is the Dark Grey, followed by white.. and most common is silver..


I own the silver, at first I wasnt thrilled, but it grew on me... tough to see scratches, always looks semi clean even when its not.. Doesn't get as hot as the dark color cars I've owned as well..


Good luck... But Craigslist is your best bet..
