If you don't have any luck with finding a used OEM navi, you should consider buying a new Eclipse AVN6620. These units are almost the same thing as the OEM unit (both are made by Eclipse) and are functionally about 95% identical. Of course with the aftermarket version, you get a much better stereo and the ability to play DVDs. Just something to consider.

Thanks.... that was actually going to be my next project (looking into what a comparable aftermarket head unit would be to the factory).

I didn't want to ask until I searched though... Thanks for the help

Since this is plug n play unit anyone know where the best place to purchase would be ??

Sorry for so many questions but this is my first 4runner and I love it but would like something with a gps and something I could plug my Iphone into...

Thanks for all the help... great website !!!!!!

Crutchfield sells them, but not at the lowest price. But they do have excellent support if you're installing it yourself. For the most part, it is plug-n-play, but not 100%. You'll still need to splice into the speed sensor and reverse signals, but luckily that's easy because the wires aren't difficult to find. And the steering wheel controls will plug right in to the headunit, just like the OEM unit does.

BTW, the 6620 was a brand new unit about a year ago (when I purchased mine, it just came out), but it is already being replaced by an even newer unit. So if you decide that you want the 6620, you should be able to find a good deal on them. If you decide you want the newer unit, it will be difficult to get one for a lower price. The new ones are nice because they have bluetooth cellphone capability built right into the unit itself. The 6620 does not. I had to add a separate bluetooth module to mine.

Thanks so much for the help..... I am checking now to see where I can get one.... The help is greatly appreciated.......
