THE GOOD NEWS: Red with gray int., 6 cylinder 3.4 liter, 205,785 miles, 4X4 (manual stick 2H 2L, 4H 4L) automatic trans, overdrive on/off button, no e-locker, skid control, front skid plate, air, PW, PL,TW, cruise, faux wood console, owners manual, driver/passenger air bags, luggage rack, spare tire, power moon roof, power back glass and wiper, rear heater blower, less than 1500 mi. on tires, no rust on body, trailer hitch receiver, new sway bar tie ends, regular maintenance, pioneer CD player, good interior (carpet needs shampooed, fabric needs reglued on drivers door, carpet worn through some on drivers floor board, faux wood has some discoloring/wear, console arm rest has split in vinyl top), retractable cargo cover (included but not pictured) Clean title in hand. The body is in EXCELLENT condition and the engine/transmission/drivetrain/4WD is rock solid and runs EXCELLENT. Were it not for ONE issue with this 4runner, I would trust it to drive /as it sits/ from Maine to Mexico and back home with absolutely no issues.
THE BAD NEWS: The frame is rusted through right where the 4link bar joins the frame on the rear driver side. The rest of the frame appears to have typical rust/pitting for a 1997 from a salt road state and according to a local mechanic who has some experience plating in frames, it could be repaired. The Tacomas are bought back for this, 4runners got the short end of the stick (so far). There are minor, parking lot dings and three long (but not deep) scratches across the hood. Rims are discolored. It needs a rear driver side shock that broke when the frame gave way, rear bumper has rust at both sides. Driver seat has 5 inch separation at the seam.
I need to sell it complete, sorry, I won't part it out. This 4runner will need to be towed to your place as it is unsafe to drive in its current condition. You're either getting a SOLID, complete 3rd gen 4runner SR5 for replacement parts or, after the plate in, a vehicle that could last you another 10 years. I'm asking $1900, all reasonable offers considered.
