X-REAS out, Bilstein 5100, FJ Cruiser springs in

All - 2007 4runner SE with about 104K miles. X-REAS rear shocks were leaking so I went with the Bilstein 5100 ride height adjustable and 5100 rear plus a full set of FJ Cruiser 4WD springs. Swap was very easy. Had it aligned after but no adjustments were necessary as it maintained the alignment (surprise). LOVE the way it handles now. I plan on keeping the 4runner for another 100k as I've looked at the 5th gens and am not impressed - Toyota raised the price and took features away - especially the Torsen center diff. I'm still trying to figure out why they'd take away the flexibility to choose AWD or 4WD.

It's been about 1k miles since the swap and the truck rides great, firm, not harsh, no diving or sway - better than the original X-REAS in my opinion - after all, it is a truck not a car!

Set the 5100's at .85" - leveled it out nicely. You do get about 1/2" lift with the FJ Cruiser springs all around. Pics coming shortly.

And I looked for a set of used 4WD FJ Cruiser springs but ended up buying OEM springs as I got tired of looking. I bought them from here:

Put in the 2007 FJ Cruiser 4WD. I think the total for the springs was under $400 - total cost of all the parts was about $700. I did all the work at my brothers garage in about 3 hours - not difficult.
