X-REAS Question

How does one evaluate whether the X-REAS system is working properly ? I have a 2006 Sport with Micheling M&S-2 tires which were installed 20,000 miles ago. So far, 3 of the 4 tires have been replaced due to vibration problems that feel like a tire is un-balanced or out of round. The problem seems to come and go. They replace a tire and i think it's OK, then it returns. I wonder if the shocks could be a problem. Vehicle has 150,000 mostly highway miles. Is there a way for the dealer to see if it is working properly?

There isn't any real indication that the need to be replaced as far as I know. It's pretty common for them to start leaking, you'll notice a residue on the shock body. Once this happens, their toast. Typically they leak long before the actual shock "should" wear out. Outside of that, possibly diminished ride quality or to if the vehicle keeps bouncing after you hit bumps and such.
