I measure 4” exactly from bottom of lower track to nub tip of the top track. I just got mine delivered yesterday and used cam straps to attach them to the roof basket.
And wow, my ipad takes really bad quality photos!

The space I have to fit these is exactly 4". So it's going to be very close. But on the basis I'll probably be able to stuff them in a little, I'm going to go for it.

Not sure if this is of any value to you but I have set of the TRED version. I forget the model but could look it up. I bought them on a group buy maybe last year. Pretty sure they are not named X-Bull
They are 3.5". I have a set laying on a hardwood floor right now. They would fit in a 4" space no problem.

For all those debating between purchasing an X-bull or an X-Traction...
They are one and the same, made buy the same manufacturer (out of China of course) but being branded and packed buy to different sellers. (one reseller out of Chino X-Bull and another out of Florida, X-Traction)
A minimum order of 100 units from Ningbo Together Trading Co., Ltd. unlocks you the price of 45$ per set, and a minimum order of 200 units gets you custom branding/logo and custom packaging/bag.
At this point, just buy the color that you want with either brand and of course the cheapest price you can get it at obviously.

Yeah, that is what I figured was going on with them. I got mine with the 15% off ebay app offer from some random ebay seller with a high rating but low price with free shipping, so they were right around $60 delivered without the bag, which I didn't want or need. They aren't actually branded X-Bull, but are very clearly the exact same traction board.

Yeah the branding/logo only applies to the packing/bag that they offer but wont be on the boards.
Stitching is so cheap that they can offset the cost when ordering 200+ units.
whereas for them to include an embossed or indented logo onto the product would require a new mold and that would very quickly jump up the price for no actual value or benefit gain for the reseller..
These resellers are not interested in building brand loyalty or a specific following like TRED for example who has their logo as well as a ramp sign embossed to idiot proof things..
Most of these guys are just going with the trends (hint hint overland mania) and making quick cash while the buzz lasts..
Can't be mad at that now can you lol You got a set for a steal of a price and the reseller made some extra cash for a small investment risk he took.

Just came upon this thread and found your luck interesting. I have black Xbulls from Amazon and had to modify them to fit the Tred 1100 mounts I got recently. Not much but I had to Dremel some of the plastic to fit the uprights. The Xbull holes on mine are 5" on center so maybe Tred altered their design or maybe the different colors are made in different molds/tooling in China? Who knows but it's a great basic, economical (and lockable) setup.

Just bought a set for about US$55, delivered, and I would have thought delivery would be at least US$10. Not much margin. Though maybe they bought when the AUD was stronger.

yeah not much margins there at that price point for sure.
But the beauty of Alibaba manufacturers is that you can negotiate your unit price if you order a decent quantity. Its like an Ebay auction where you can make an offer on the price.

Thought you might be interested to know that on a recent trip to the beach in some really soft sand we used the Xbull boards about five times (OK, we weren't trying very hard not to get bogged, I wanted to try them out!).
The boards got us out within seconds every time, and show almost no signs of wear whatever.
