I purchased the X-Bull 10 ton boards on eBay for $89 shipped from Kentucky. Tracking says they'll be here Monday.

I want more info on these and wonder how they really hold up in real off roading incidences . Contemplating on getting a pair.
In the video I posted or one that pops up in the side panel the guy uses two as a "bridge" up a small sand embankment. So they flex out. He siad others would break doing that and named the brand... Not sure if he knows that for a fact or not... but they do say 10T so regardless of others possibly breaking, at least these don't.
Seems they all burn the nubs off if you spin your tires... see vid by kid with hat and sunglasses.
Not sure how you will get a lot long of term results.
Considering they are all made in a very similar fashion and everyone will be using them under very different conditions, ( tires, terrain, mud, snow, sand, vehicle, vehicle weight distribution, etc ).
I think for $90 you just have to go for it and use them properly. I don't think they work as well as having someone else dig you out while you stand around observing and drinking a beer.

All of these boards like this work great in snow. I don't see where these would be any different.
A shackle hitch and a snatch strap work pretty awesome for rescuing others though.

Damn if those aren't a direct rip off of the TRED boards except for the ramp on both ends.
Boards are OK in snow if if it's not too cold out, I used a set of TRED boards a few years ago and they worked alright with the snow but the frigid temps make them brittle and eventually destroyed them. Luckily they have a lifetime warranty and after sending a couple pics they sent me out a new set ASAP.

I just wanted to post a positive review for the X-bull boards that I got off of ebay from the seller xbull-usa. This is the seller based out of Kentucky.
I purchased my boards for $89 a few months ago and my initial impressions were pretty good. They seemed solid and I liked the carrying bag they came in. Now I don't have any experience with MaxTrax so I can't quite compare them to the plastic used in those unfortunately. But again, initial impression were good.
I finally got a chance to use them on a tight and rutted out switch back going up Red Cone Trail here in Co. It was a crossed up situation where I had a front tire and a back tire on opposite ends of the truck almost up in the air. To make it worse it had just started snowing and the dirt was getting slick. Even with my locker engaged I didn't have the traction to make it up and around the switchback. So out came the boards to see what they could do. We threw some dirt and rocks under the front tire that was up in the air and then wedged the board in there. Sure enough, the tire sucked it in and it caught under the tire and gave me the grip I needed to get up that switchback. Even with them grinding up against the rocks they held up great.
So far so good!
A little further up the trail, getting close to 12k ft, the snow was getting deeper and conditions in general were deteriorating. We were about 100 feet from the highest point of the trail and had one more steep snowy climb ahead of us. My buddy with mud terrains was able to plow his way up the hill but unfortunately my all terrains didn't have enough bite in the snow. So once again out came the xbull boards to see what we could do with them. Luckily they worked a charm and I was able to use them to get enough momentum to scoot my way up the hill. But unfortunately in the process they ended up cracking in a few places. I'm going to attribute that to the temperature outside and also all the wheel spin and having them wedged into whatever rocks we could find for extra stability. All in all they served their purpose and they got me out of a jam twice that day.
Now here's the really cool part. X-bull states that they have a 1 year warranty on the boards. So when I got home later in the day I shot a message to xbull-usa through ebay and told them what happened and provided some pictures.
Sure enough, I got a message back saying they'd honor their warranty and send me a new set on their dime. In my opinion that's pretty awesome! You always take a chance purchasing these offbrand products and you can almost never expect for them to actually honor a warranty or get any service post purchase. But I'm happy to report that in this case Xbull-usa is legit! I'd happily buy another set from them.
Anyway, this ended up being longer than I had intended but I feel that good sellers should be commended, especially when they stand behind their products.

For whatever reason the orange boards have gone up in price to $99 but the black ones are now selling for $64 bucks which in my opinion is a steal for what you get.

I have the Maxsa and I confirm they don't snap together. Now that I have installed a flat rack, I am on the edge about what to do, sell them or keep them.

Thanks for the confirmation and many thanks to everyone who responded to this thread. I bought the X-Bulls a while back and they don't truly "snap" together but they do fit together like spoons in a drawer (or Russian nesting dolls, if you prefer). I fabricated some brackets that hold the X-Bulls to the factory roof rack crossbars using Yakima Mighty Mounts and following the idea in this thread: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/224009-diy-hi-lift-shovel-mount-stock-crossbars.html. The mount works great and is easy to install/uninstall.
I haven't used the X-Bulls yet. I'll be taking the X-Bulls to Big Bend this weekend. Hopefully I don't get in a tight spot and need them, but I feel confident that if I do need them, they'll do a fine job (based on the awesome review by [MENTION=166221]Spudgey[/MENTION]).
I just snagged a pair of X-Bulls off of ebay as well to try as my first recovery boards. Seem to be pretty positive response to them most places I've read. I get that they're not maxtrax, but I feel like this is probably a solid option for learning (ie: burning off all the nubs on wheelspin, hah) or even just being able to have a larger quantity on hand (you can get 3-4 pairs for the price).
I feel a little guilty in going for a knockoff product, but I think my wallet is slapping me around right now and I would prefer to invest in other parts of my vehicle w/ quality items first.

so far i've only had to use mine to help a couple cars in the snow, and a small test flex to see if they would snap the first time. they seem like decent quality for the price
are the bars LFD?

Hi, I'm new here but wondered if someone who has a pair of the X-Bull tracks could do me a favor and let me know exactly how high they are when stacked? I'm thinking about getting a pair but I have a space which would be perfect for slotting these in, but it's probably only just high enough. Thanks in advance to anyone who can do this for me.
