Hey anyone here have Xbox live for the 360? I had this 360 for 4-5 years and never had live. what are the needs to have live and have it run right? also how much would it cost?

you need and internet connection (with either a wireless router or a direct ethernet connection) and a xbox live membership. it'll probably cost around $100 dollars or a little more. totally worth it though.:cheers:

I'd thought it be more. I might just use a cable that goes to my wifi I'm not that good with software. Who knows I might just get by the end of the week if thats all it needs!:trophy:

My son got a new xbox, I think the membership now is free?? he didn't ask money.
Hes got hes xbox modified a year ago, inorder to play those downloaded games(via torrent). But later, it was detected when connected live. Its blacklisted.
By playing live, you are sharing with other users in your home network. Other users will experience slow browsing/surfing if you are playing online. So aside from $40 a year(?) you might need to upgrade your internet speed.
If you can connect through ethernet, then that would be the cheapest route.

I don't think I've ever experienced slowness on the computer when I'm playing XBox Live, but I deffinetly have expereinced it the other way around. It's almost unbarable playing on XBL if someone's on the internet watching a TV show or movie, or downloading something.
A faster internet is nice tho. We have a faster internet connection at my house, and then we just upgraded to a wireless N router ($200). The wireless N router makes a huge difference if you have the Wireless N Card on your XBox ($100).
If you can do it, the fastest connection would be to just plug right into your modem or router, but since I'm on a different story of the house and on the complete other side of the house, it's impossible for me to plug right in.

Forza 3 and halo or first person shooters like that call of duty 2. mostly racing games as I am a avid car person. thats about it really and hopefully I can get some of those other features like the netflix.:snacker:

I love my xbox. If you ever wanna play mw2 or somethin, hemel5 is my GT.
Although i havent played mw2 in freakin forever, i stopped playing it due to all of the hackers/cheaters. I've been messing with the bad company 2 demo, DOWNLOAD IT and hit me up and we can get a squad goin.

I love xBox 360 and xBox Live. I used to be an avid Plasytation guy, and a couple months ago traded my 80 GB PS3 for a 120 GB xBox Elite with water cooling. I definitely got the better end of the deal, but they guy was more interested in BluRay capability than gaming, so he didn't really mind. I have Verizon FiOS 100MB/10MB service, so lag or bad connections never really seem to be a problem. The xBox came with the original wireless adapter (with one antenna) but still works pretty well off the Apple AirPort Extreme routers in my house. I'm usually on CoD Mw2, Forza 3 of Halo 3, and sometimes on Gears 2. My GT is extRooRdinary, so feel free to hit me up if you see me online

Yea, I also started playing BC2 Demo for the exact same reason! Haha... I probably won't be back on XBL till Tuesday, so I'll hit you guys up then.

ALRIGHT! I got all the hardware for the xbox live with this weird update. you have an aviator? why? anyway my friends are gonna help me sit it up. but this is after I get give my girl a good day today! the username or gamertag will more than likely either be something from the racing world or an engine code. thanks 4 the help!
