Looks nice and bright. Do you have any before pictures of the beam and cutoff for comparison?

No I unfortunately do not. Cut off is definitely better than it would have been if I had kept the stock housing since they are all reflective inside.

What about glare?

wow look at all that glare on your garage door......even though people don't flash you, it still doesn't mean you're not blinding them.

on the other hand......the kit does look nice.

For a non-projector housing, I'm not complaining. Sure, I understand that there is still some glare, but I've seen much much worse.

I WOULD NOT advise putting HID lighting into the factory housing because the inside is all relective --- Glare on that would be ridiculous. This is a good alternative between projector and stock IMO.

Does appear to have some glare, however I think we've all seen some vehicles with OEM HIDs and they have some glare too.

Wonder how the glare produced by the black JDM housings compares to the glare produced by the OEM housings painted black.

I don't see how there could be a difference in refelction or glare between the JDM or "blacked out" housings and the stock housings. Both housings still have the same chrome plastic parabolic reflectors that take a point sourse of light and turn it into a beam pattern. The rest of the housing is just for looks and doesn't reflect any light emitted from the bulb. How could this make glare better or worse? :wtf:

Glare produced from non-projector housings is just stray light from the parabolic reflector that is reflected consequentally outside the desired beam pattern and is inherent of non-perfect (non-ideal) reflectors. The more intense the point source of light as with HID, the more glare.

I do think that the OEM reflectors MAY produce a better quality beam pattern simply because more R&D went into the design and construction of the reflectors than the aftermarket ones. Also, I think that there would be less of a problem with hot spots and stray light. Don't know for sure, but that would be my guess.
If the housings around the reflectors was not black you would get all kinds of stray light off of the chrome and that would dramatically increase glare.

OK, and where would this stray light outside of the r.....wait, are the inner rings of the reflectors on the JDM blacked out too?? Somebody post a closeup pic of the JDM housing, this should solve this question for good.
