Finally had a chance to throw them in. There is a very slight flicker on DRL. They look great can’t wait to try the highs at night.

Sorry, they dim as advertised but still flicker, and pretty badly in my 18 SR5P that I swapped just the drivers with the last version of the Xtreme Pro 9005 LED. Disappointed.

Did you remove the anti flicker module as well? You just need the bulb and the led drl driver, no longer need the anti flicker pwm that you may have had hooked up before.

Nope. Just the new driver and the bulb installed. I never installed the power module before. Was just not using drls.

sorry to hear that. I got the new setup including the LEDs (I'll be posting HB output later this weekend).

If I hold my hand up to the lens, I can see a slight flicker. It's very faint. If I move back say 20-30 ft, I know it's there...but you have to stare and only at a certain angle. The true test was when I asked my wife if she noticed anything about the new light setup.

I then asked if she sees any flicker. She said no. I then put on the HB's and she said WTH, I can't see now.

I've had previous gen LEDs in the HB/DRL slot and the flicker was like strobe lights. I'm the managing owner of my wife's 2014 LE and we have the Precision LED HB LEDs in there....but I did the DRL disable to still take advantage of the auto head lights. I tried a few other LED DRL/HB manufacturers with the same results.

The [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] package is the closest to what I've been looking for in years. Not perfect (see above) but as OCD as I am about vehicles I'm keeping them.

Installed mine today and I too am disappointed. They still flicker pretty badly. Not as bad as without the drl driver, but for the money, I would have just kept my other led high beams i bought on amazon and called it a day. MY other XD HID for my low beams are amazing and worth the money. The led high beams plus drl driver was not money well spent.

HB XD LED output

Finally got a chance (and remembered) to take a pic with and w/o LED HB.

My LB are DD HID 6Ks. You can't compared OEM LB with HIDs...not even close. HB also leave on the LB...so my output will not be the same if you have OEM LB.

For installation it either works or it doesn't. Since mine work, I installed them correctly. They do the dual voltage thing, but mine flicker on the DRL. If you look at yours, turn your head and look at the light from the corner of your eye you should see a flicker. If you dont maybe we got bad units. Hard to tell when many are reporting the same problem. Lets see what XD says.

Double checked my install, and removed wire loom I had wrapped the cables in to make sure there were no shielding issues with the driver or wires being too close to each other and it made no difference. No matter how near or far, or what angle you look at the lights from, they flicker. Used my 10 year old instead of my wife, and he noticed it right away.

So, I have a 2011 4runner with a completely different setup. I was wondering how hard it would be to put an amber / white light in the turn signal. I would want something that would work like normal under regular conditions, but could be turned into additional lights when wanted.

I STILL can't see it flickering, and neither could my wife. I'll get my 16 yr old daughter to look as she has better eyes.

That said, I filmed it with my phone and can see it there. Funny thing is it LOOKS like a scan artifact, but filming other LED light sources doesn't do the same thing.

I used to write firmware for LED drivers. In drl mode, you cant just run at led at a constant lower voltage because itll likely be outside of the LED operating spec. Therefore, they have to use pulse width modulation and a low duty cycle at 12 volts to get a perceived lower voltage. They probably up the frequency of the PWM compared to what the vehicle generates for the halogen bulbs, but the flickering is still perceivable. Some will notice it and some will not. The video shows a a flicker which suggests that this is the case.

How do other cars w LEDS have non flickering DRLs. They have LEDs spec'd for lower voltage or output. Or they have LEDs designed to be switched fast enough to not be detected by the human eye, but you see similar video artifacts with those cars.
