These cars probably run the LED at a lower voltage instead of pulsing the voltage like ours do. It would seem to be a simple fix to run the voltage through a capacitor so the pulsed voltage goes in and a constant goes out.

Great explanation thanks. I can see the slight pulse too at night if pulled up close to a wall with DRL's on, or if you put your face close to the lens I guess but I think the product does the job. My vehicle has been behind me a few times now since I put them in (wife driving and I in front) and you cannot see that at all, in any lighting condition due to movement and distance primarily, even when the vehicle is right at your bumper so I'm happy with it I don't care about the PWM or slight flicker in any other circumstances I don't stick my face on the lens typically so I feel they designed exactly what I was after here and would recommend it to anyone. Across an intersection or oncoming, it would be impossible to discern.

I have also installed the new module on my LED High Beam/DRL lights. I removed the old anti-flicker module and driver and put this new driver in. I too can see the high frequency flicker in DRL mode. This is most noticeable when about 2-3 feet from the vehicle. I can put my hand in front of it and you can most certainly tell there is a flicker. No flicker when switched to high beam though. I wish XD was able to execute this concept a little better for releasing the product. Slightly disappointed.

Yeah the flicker is annoying, but according to [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] the flicker will reduce the led lamp life considerably. So in my eyes this is not a true fix. Its going to reduce the life of my very expensive LED high beams. I keep an extra set in my car at all times just in case. I just dont want them to fail as a result of the DRL driver.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for being an early adopter of this product, which is still very new to us, and for your patience and understanding while we get this resolved for you.
It's great to see the majority of you are enjoying the new DRL LED Drivers without any flickering but sorry to everyone that's still having a flickering issue in DRL mode.
I would first recommend that you check and make sure you are using the new DRL LED Drivers which come in a separate box with the part# XT-LED-PRO-DRL. When installing the new LED Driver, make sure you're no longer using the old LED Drivers or the PWM canbus modules.
If you are one of the ones having the flickering issue still, you can keep them and continue to use them for the time being, as there is no negative effect on the kit for doing so.
Please send us an email to [email protected] with your order info and detailing the problem so that we can further look into this on a case by case basis to help resolve the issue.
Here's a little more info on how the daytime running lights work in the 4Runner:
The DRLs at a lower brightness are created by a Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) signal coming from the vehicle’s side of things, so the variation caused by this method is going to create some variance in our results.
The programming in the computer chips in the DRL Drivers is adjustable at our manufacturer’s end, and while we have sold through our entire initial batch of these we received, our next batch is going to include some programming tweaks to handle a larger range of variance in the PWM signal.

Updated Drivers Installed
Received and installed the updated DRL drivers today and they are great. There is a very, and I mean VERY slight flicker when viewing against a surface, but nothing anyone who is not looking for it would ever find perceptible.
So happy to have DRLs back. Awesome job XenonDepot, and thank you for standing behind your product.
Now to convince the wife she needs LEDs in her car so I can swap out the updated high beams with the recently updated 9005s that have the higher lumens.

I bought the module and put it in. My DRL mode stopped working. I checked the fuses, relay, and connection. I even switched the LEDs. Nothing helped it. The bright work fine. I'm thinking I have a bad module. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks very much for posting your feedback here on the second batch of the DRL Drivers.
Your experience matches what we have seen with the new batch of Drivers installed in one of our own vehicles. While you may see a very slight flicker with the lights up against a wall/garage door/etc in a dark environment, that is not really the type of scenario when you are going to be using your DRLs to begin with. Typically they are running during daylight hours, or in low-light conditions, so this will not be noticeable during regular operation, and you do not need to worry about this affecting the lifespan of the bulbs.
If your High Beams are still working, then you have everything installed correctly (or else the power would not be flowing). I would second [MENTION=146937]GChristo[/MENTION]'s question here and suggest you double-check and make sure you are in a setting/scenario where your DRLs would normally turn on. Some vehicles need you to be in gear and in motion (or at least have your parking/emergency brake OFF) in order for the DRLs to activate.

Yeah. I know the engine has to be running for DRL mode to work. Late last night my brights wouldn't work. I switched the lights completely off and back to DRL. Everything has worked fine since.
Robert 5th gens don't need to be in drive. Just crank it up and have it DRL mode.

But the parking brake does need to be off initially.
