Thanks. I just ordered the XD HIDs with 4300k Phillips bulbs off of their site. FWIW, it looks like you save a couple dollars on THEIR site using code XD15 and get free 2 day shipping compared to the site linked (KBcarstuff) in their sig.

Cool, if you've lifted the vehicle just make sure to re-aim the headlights lower! I may have pissed off a few drivers at first...

The pictures you posted certainly show quite a difference in the light output.... Although, The HIDs really look that yellow compared to the LEDs... Did you find that the case in "real-life," or is more of a camera thing?

They're not quite as yellow in real life but it's noticeable. Given the amount of rain we've had here in Florida I'm kinda liking it. Looking forward to seeing the color shift and will update with a pic once it's noticeable

do your lights have a tendency to only have one side come on with these HID? Then having to turn them off and turn them back on for both sides to fire?
I have had couple of toyotas with HID and they seem to all do this with different brands. (camry, solara, corolla, older 4runner) Just wondering if these new 4runners do it as well.

Phillips 4300k. I thought doing the led fogs as well, but I might put some rigids in there instead.

You won't be disappointed with the Philips H16 LED BULB. It's plug+play, and will be a simple bulb replacement. The "problem" with replacement LED headlights is that you get a large void of light right in front of vehicle.. Do some homework before making a decision

The HIDs are PnP to a point. You will need to drill a hole (25mm/1in) in each of the bulb covers (correct name?). You may also need to reverse the polarity on a couple connectors. That's it other than securing the ballasts.
I secured my ballasts to the radiator core support. I enlarged the single hole on the top of the ballast using a step bit and secured it using the bolt that passes through from a wire bracket (uniform on both sides). It's very secure and looks nicely done. I wanted to do it a bit differently, but the wires came up short and it would have required removal of the headlights.

Yes, you will need to drill a hole in the dust cover that covers up the back of the headlights. The XenonDepot HID kits will come with a grommet that will help you re-seal the housing though.
Polarity - Here is a quick vid showing how to reverse the polarity on an H11 connector.

I placed an order today from XenonDepot, just because of this thread.
In a few days I'll be installing the H11 Xtreme Kit (5000K, because I like the output to be close to white), and Phillips Crystal Vision Ultra bulbs in the high beams and fogs.
I'll report back with results.
The output of the stock bulbs in the projectors is disappointing.

So what's the consensus on LED vs HID in a '12 (pre refresh)? Seems like LED is more of a plug n play application since you don't have to worry about ballasts...has anyone used Xenon Depots Cree LEDS? I really don't want to spend $160 on Philipps LED headlights

I initially bought some for my headlights, but they weren't bright enough.
I moved them to my fog lamps , and I love them now. For the headlights I went with the Volt hids also from Xenon depot and now the light output is great.
