It'd be illegal if the bulbs are not DOT approved. I failed my recent state inspection because of the HID bulbs not having a DOT stamp on them. Went home, unhooked them and got it inspected the same day.

Rebased HIDs are illegal anywhere in the US. HIDs are only legal if it came from the factory. Some argue that retrofitting HID projectors in a car without HIDs would make it legal, because it's essentially all HID components mounted in a car that didn't come with HID.

Most HID kits have disclaimers that states "legal for off-road or show use only and never upon a public highway or road."

No aftermarket HID conversion kit is considered street legal.

sharp4runr - thats exactly it. No modifiactions are necessary when installing this product. Very easy to go back to stock.

Uneek - Even a retrofit would not be considered street legal as you would actually need to have the headlight tested and make sure that it complies with all standards necessary. Until this is done it cannot be considered steet legal or DOT compliant. Furthermore, there is no mold for retrofitted headlamps meaning that you would need to test each and every single one.

Looks like DHL attempted my delivery this morning but, since I'm at work, there was no one there to sign for it. Hopefully I can just sign the slip and have them drop it off tomorrow. I am looking forward to hooking it all up and posting the pics!

Got mine this morning

My DHL package arrived this morning . It's suppose to rain all week so I won't be able to take decent before and after pics outside (unless it stops raining) hopefully I have pics and a write up this weekend.
