I apologize for the late reply, but I literally just saw this thread.

As per your questions/comments:

Light Output:

These bulbs are rated at approximately 3700 lux, which is a 22% increase in light output from our previous generation LED headlight kits. Our goal in designing this bulb was to increase and improve the light output (beam pattern), while maintaining the flexible heatsink passive cooling (no fans). We prefer the flexible heatsink as it does not get as hot as bulky fixed heatsinks (they get really hot), and we certainly wanted to say away from using a fan.

We wanted a bulb that increased light output over stock, and provided a "replace and forget" mentality -- replace it once, and you're done! For the biggest increase in light output, we still suggest going with a 4300k HID kit, but if you're looking to improve color, light output, and instant-on functionality then these bulbs will do just that!

DRL mode - These bulbs will have a slight flicker without the PWM module when installed in DRL applications -- same as the other bulbs referenced in this thread. Rather then telling people that they are "dimmable" or will "dim", we prefer to be upfront and say that they are NOT dimmable, as all you're doing by letting them flicker is burning them out -- the driver will 100% fail prematurely.

Hey Steve

I think these LED are around 6000k in color. Will it be a good match with the 4300k Philips HID after those have burned in or will there still be a noticeable difference in color - I got the HID kit recently.

Once installed, what is the orientation of the LED's in the housing, 12/6 o'clock or 3/9 o'clock position.

Looks like the diodes are facing 3/9 o'clock.

You can adjust the orientation on these

Yes. These have the ability to loosen the orientation and rotate them so the diodes face however you want.

I haven't messed with it but by doing this i believe you can change he beam pattern.

I'll see if I can do this with a video asap.

Call me crazy but I think the "before" picture has the better light quality (brightness, spread, etc)

Yeah, me too. perhaps difference in color temperature but before looks better. and that after camera most likely compensated for white balance.

Pic - I may be crazy as well, but looking at the pictures it looks like the truck may be positioned closer to the bend in the road in the before picture (by looking at the trees).

It's true, the pictures were taken very close to the same location, but I did not mark the exact location to get a completely accurate comparison shot.

If they were positioned the other way, I was going to suggest rotating them....

Well I just turned one of the to the 12/6 position to test it out. I'll see if I can get good pix. It's super easy to adjust.

Yeah i installed mine last night, wanted to give it through the weekend before doing my write up. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the fact they can't be dimmed. If anything they'll compliment the light bar nicely, especially when people pull out in front of me or are running with brights on in town or the interstate :mad2:

The issue I see when DRL's can't be dimmed and running in the High Beam Reflector, is if you encounter a State Trooper & you can't turn your DRL "OFF" quick enough, more than likely (and YMMV depending on the state you live in), you will get dinged with a nice little fine for failure to dim headlights.

They won't listen to whining about you can't dim them :blah::blah::blah: !

Hmm. Good point to consider. I still don't foresee this being an issue during the day time - but I'll keep this in mind as I travel!

Yes, I agree they will not be hid bright. Yet it is unknown how bright these leds will be as they are now 3600 lumens total and are able to be clockable for the projector to get full light output.

I unplugged the dimmer module to test the ability to run these as dimmed DRL's. the result was definitely a dimmer light, but there is a very slightly noticeable flicker.

I shot a video on my iPhone and the middle 10 seconds or so goes to slow motion.

When it appears to roll dark, then roll light again - that's the rolling shutter effect you can get from these cameras.

My main concern from running it without the anti flicker module is that it could shorten the lifespan of the bulb. The XD folks are checking on that for us.

Any update on getting these dimmed? I have the putco silver lux, which are exactly the same as these and someone in front of me thought they were too bright.
