Xinirgi's 2002 Blurple 4Runner

I also picked up a few different covers for the Lightforce Lights and did a shoot demonstrating what the differences look like head to head. Here's what I came up with:
For reference they're HID conversion 240's, with 50W Ballasts/bulbs @ 4300K. The headlights are Bi-Xenon FX-R retrofits, also 50W and 4300K.

Low beams only:

Wow those are some serious lights man. Holy crap.

So I made a border run this weekend with some friends, and apart from cherry coke, I ended up with this:

Was supposed to have another item but it didn't make it to the border in time unfortunately. So in a few weeks or whenever I get time to do another border run I'll have it here.

Well update time I think. Went and did Moab along with the Tacoma World guys, although I did not end up taking my rig. I was co pilot in a friends 1997 Lexus LX450 (aka Land Cruiser) on 37's and triple locked, which made it a lot more enjoyable. The 20 hour trip one way was pretty agressive, though we managed to straight shot it on the way there and took an overnighter (to hit the border again, for my item mentioned above and some other parts) on the way back. If you're looking for Moab pictures, head here .

So in my possession and almost ready for install is a CBI Hybrid rear bumper w/ rear swingaway. Getting it painted this week as I have time available, in the meantime, here's some pictures of what I like about it, and what I don't.

Beautiful welds where everyone can see them:

And some not so good ones where it attaches to the frame, out of sight:

And also, attention to detail doesn't appear to be to high of a concern:

Overall, I enjoy the look of their product the best out of everything else I've seen. The price isn't outrageous, and they're accommodating for light custom work (1" BL added, no longer an option if ordering from their site). I'll have more shots of the finished product hopefully this weekend.

Other updates include the roof rack mentioned previously, which has finally had painting completed and has been installed as well. Waiting on some more free time before some updated pictures of that.

Can't wait to see the new photos! I could really use some for my new website! Ps: I still think you should call your rig the blurple nirpple lol. Really like everything you've got so far!

So this weekend I drove 6hrs to pick this bad boy up, then spent the rest of the weekend setting it up and getting the truck ready for a trip to the mountains later this week. Mounted flawlessly onto the WMW rack, hatch opens and closes with no clearance issues also. The tent is a Tepui Kukenam Ruggedized. I wanted it in the orange but nobody has any stock and ETA's were months away. Since I'd already been waiting a couple months I just settled on the grey.

Long awaited pictures coming soon!

Managed to get out and do some camping this past weekend. Didn't end up staying out as long as I'd planned but any break from work is fine by me.

After I got back I remembered I was supposed to have gotten some better pictures of the roof rack, I was also supposed to grab some shots of my g/f's new to her 4Runner, so we went out to a local area to get some. After some coaching down the trails, we made it down to the river.

Dang, I gotta move to Canada. Will one of you Canadian folks find a crummy street or ghetto to post pictures of? I get tired of the amazing scenery pics lol. PM sent for some of those photos, love the tent!

-33x12.5x15 Goodyear Duratracs
-Procomp 15x8 3.75BS steel wheels
-1+" wheel spacers (can't remember thickness)

I'm doing some research for a potential new build (either a 3rd gen 4Runner or a 1st gen Tacoma) and I'm interested in running 15x8 wheels. Seems that some 15" wheels work and some don't. Your thread popped up in one of my searches. Nice looking rig...

So, I'm curious if you are running the 1"+ spacers because your 15x8 rims wouldn't clear the calipers, or if you just wanted a wider stance. Thanks.

BeaterToyota, I had to run the spacers in order to clear the calipers. Shaving was out of the question, it was not "close" by any means. Set me back a week of putting the rims on. Also worth mentioning is I had to replace one of the OEM calipers with one from Napa, and their reman required some super light shaving to fit in the same rim even with the spacers. The casting of whatever brand caliper it was had a slightly different shape on the outer ends, and thus contacted the rim, though not too bad - just enough to scrape the paint. A quick grind and some paint and all is well.

I have some new updates to include soon as well, 35's on some new 17's!

Yeah the price difference is huge, but if you plan on going to the Tundra calipers you'll need a bigger rim. I did 17's as the dura's only come in E range for 16, but D for 17. Here's a quick shot right after they were mounted and balanced.

Went out to a place called Ruby Falls this past weekend. Daytime temps were a balmy 14 deg C, while overnight temps dropped to -5 deg C. Overall a great time to be in the mountains before all the snow hits, even if I did get water in the cab. Pics:

Have some others I am going through still, as well as some GoPro footage. Turns out I need to learn how to use the GoPro studio though first, might take a while.

Spring is here! Got this thing pulled out of winter storage and gave it a wash, just need to stop by the registry and my summer DD is good to go!

Here's what spring brought us just last week though:

And here's something that is in the works, picked these up from the border this weekend in Eureka along with getting my Visa scammed. Good weekend overall!

Question time!!

Where are you mounting the CO reservoirs? I had to wrap mine back up to be above the shock tower... And had to lengthen the lines in the process. Hopefully you find something suitable without having to mod the brand new CO's.

What travel are the rear shocks? 10"? Are you keeping the upper shock mounts in their stock location or bringing them outboard?

Love your rig. It's purdy.

Your build is awesome, very inspiring too. Question, did you have to do a lot of hammering/trimming to fit the 35's? I'm about to install 35" duratracs as well, with the same amount of lift you are running (3" suspension and 1" body lift). Thanks!

For the front resi's I'll put them wherever the current hose allows them to be. From eyeballing it looks like they'll sit just infront of the CO on the frame, in an up/down orientation. The plan is to extend the hoses and get them out of the wheel well area and into the engine bay to avoid the salt/mud we get here in the winter/summer so that the adjusters don't end up seizing.

For the rear resi's, same as the front. I am contemplating running the resi's into the rear cargo area for the same reasons as the front. You can get pass through fittings so that you don't need to worry about waterproofing a hole with a hose going through it.

The rear shocks are the same travel as the Sonoran Steel Bilsteins. I forget the numbers off the top of my head, I'll have to measure them when I get the time. I am running them in the stock location.

As for the 35's, I didn't have to do too much hammering at all. My caster seems to be well beyond what most people on here are able to achieve, and also the duratracs are only a true 34.6". They do rub from time to time, but not enough to make me want to tub and cut.
