XM Radio Receiver and Antenna Help - 2009 4Runner

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this site and a new 4Runner owner...but have wanted one forever! Love, love, love it!

Wanted to get advice. I've always had XM pre-installed from the factory in my cars. The 4Runner I have just has XM capabilities, but I'll need to buy an antenna and receiver. The dealership parts are going to cost $350, plus install fees.

I'd prefer to get it hardwired rather than going to Best Buy or something to buy a radio. Got any advice on where I can purchase these parts cheaper or just go with the dealership, since they'll do the best job installing?

What kind of factory head unit do you have? The basic? The nav system?

What sort of solution you need is totally going to depend on what you're starting with.

And not for nothing, but IMO, there are more Sirius solutions out there right now for Toyota products than there are XM...but again, it will depend on what is already installed in your T4R.

Are you looking to get 1 single satellite dedicated tuner for this vehicle? Or are you looking for a plug-n-play that you can move between vehicles?

I purchased a 2009 limited V6'RWD. JBL sound system, no navigation. I had a honda accord previously and already have a 3 year xm subscription and was going to roll it over to the 4runner. I agree with you on the Sirius comment.

No, not looking for the plug and play. Just XM in the 4runner.
