XREAS replacement

After 95k miles, it looks like it is time to replace the XREAS shocks/struts on my '03 4WD V8 Limited -- the left front is leaking. I don't have the rear air suspension.

I don't want to lift. I want to maintain approximately the same ride height. I've read several threads here, but remain confused as to what my alternatives are (partly because most folks are interested in lift and I'm not). Having the dealer put on a new XREAS system is stupidly expensive, so that's out.

I've had good luck with Bilsteins on previous vehicles, but it isn't clear to me which Bilsteins will fit. What other options should I consider?

Getting used FJC suspension is not high on my list.

Bilstiens would be good. A very nice, very close to OE direct replacement is the KYB GR2. Online pricing for these seems to be pretty good and few members here have used them. All have reported back with good things to say.

Shocks do very little to the height*, they control bounce sway etc. The trick with XREAS removal is that all 4 shocks have to be done on the same day. Other than that no big deal just order shocks for a non-XREAS SR5 of the same year and they'll go right in.

* I say "very little" because going from sacked-out shocks to new ones sometimes will raise the ride height a hair. The new shocks have a fresh nitrogen pre-charged and MAY raise the vehicle .1 or .2 inches.

Which Bilsteins, though? If I understand the other threads, one type of Bilstein is designed for use with a lift.
