Yes, you can. I just bought a 2021 Trail Special Edition and added the fat cat 6's to my basket. Looks good!

That should work fine. They will be a bit far apart, but to no major ill effect.
Just make sure to use the included Yakima roundbar adapters to give them better purchase on the tubing.
