I had no clue this place existed! I'm curious though, is this a place where a newby could learn? I've never been off-roading and would really love to try out a place that isnt too dangerous.

EDIT: Just realized this place may be closed down. Big bummer.
By the way, I would love to go to a meet up! Don't know any other 4Runner owners and have no idea how to off road and would love to learn.

There are a few of them in the Katy area.. I am totally game. Seems like a lot of the local meet up groups are on facebook rather than forums. There is no local 4runner group on Facebook that I know of.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a shop on the southwest side to put some new shocks on the front of my 2003? I picked up a local set of tacoma shocks and coils recently and need to get them on the truck but am trying to figure out a ballpark cost to do so. One shop in Katy quoted me around $500 with the alignment. Does that sound reasonable or should I consider just tackling this myself? Thanks for any advice ya got!

I'm not familiar with any shops, I've done all the work on my truck myself. But if you have tools and are somewhat handy you can change the suspension yourself, it really isn't that hard.

Are the shocks/coils already built? it's an easy install, keep an eye out for a local wrench meet. If they are built, it should take a short amount of time to install. If not built, it will take a little bit longer and might be more scary with a spring compressor for someone that has not done it before. I think the Tacoma shocks are slightly different though, valved differently anyways.. as I recall. Have tools? I might be able to come over and help this weekend.

Hey Everyone, located within the loop in Houston. About to hit the timing belt, water pump, and associated items and have been looking around for a shop to do the work. Any recommendations? I have been looking at HCS Automotive as they have a good reputation on some Acura forums. I wish I could do the work myself, but I just don't have the time or a place to do it.
