You know you're a Third Generation 4Runner owner when...

YOU want to dedicate the rest of your life to preserving 3rd Gens, for future generations of 3rd Gen Owners!!!
 
When you just read 26 pages of these quotes and realize you knew all the terminology, who makes the OEM parts for a timing belt kit, have read Bigfish's rear seal replacement DIY and argued with a Toyota mechanic on what needed to be replaced, and spent $4600 more than originally planned buying the 4Runner just because it was the cleanest one that could be found with under 200K miles after one month of ownership. Then you start dreaming of trips to Colorado for some 4x4 trails even though you just bought a 30' RV a year ago for all your camping adventures.
 
when you consistently shrug off comments and don't have the energy to get into it with people when they say stuff like "Why don't you buy a newer 4runner or another car/truck that isn't so old?" :):):)
 
You're on the membership committee for a golf, swim, tennis, or rod & gun club and you blackball a prospective member because he drives a gen 1, 2, 4, or 5. Without revealing why, you tell the other committee members: He's not exactly our type.

Also, when your daughter dates a guy driving a gen 4 or 5, you tell her not Honey, you can do better but rather Honey, you will do better.
 
When you crawl under your truck just because you want too, find something that makes you audibly go "Uh-OH!" and still plan on driving it to work for the next week before you can the part.

(Was just a broken front sway bar link this time but it's been other stuff before.)

Drove a newish (2013?) Chevy Silverado 1500 today at work... was reminded how much I love my 4Runner. I hate driving that thing, scared backing up with no visibility, and it was just HUGE with these superfluous body panels...

Whereas, in my 3rd gen, it feels nimble and I know the rig well, and it doesn't have all this extra body paneling and such. I like my rig a lot more than anything else I have driven...

They say the 3rd time is the charm for a reason! :dance:

Good S/C -
When you have just explained for the third time today why you are injecting windshield washer fluid into your engine.

Bad -
When you have driven 200 miles and you are empty on gas.

.....you hit 300,000 miles (482,802 km)on the way to work this morning and the only thing you worry about is whether you have time at lunch for an oil change.....

482,802 km = 300,000 miles exactly. Congrats!
