Haha thats awesome! Yeah i've been saving for tires for about 4 months so i want to get those cuz winter is over now and i can take my studs off!
Ha i know man i love it, it has never failed me.
Not having 4WD is not an issue at all. I got through winter without a problem and we got a little over a foot. So a 4wd swap wouldnt be for a while ya know?

And i have 193xxx on it right now.

--Maintenance before mods
--Save the $ for worth-while mods
--Treat her nice and never get rid of it! I'm still kicking my own a$$! But I also didn't have internet 10 years ago!

If you really want a 4X4, it can be swapped (not cheap)

Check out some more forums, T4R popped my cherry and I'm still a reg but there's also Yotatech, TTORA, Tacoma World, Pirate 4X4.... you'll figure em out.

Nice work on the oil change! Btw, I go through the driver side wheel well, pull the rubber flap, and the oil filter is right there! So easy to turn it and pull it out from there!
 
WELLL, its been a long time since i've posted!! A super long time.
But anyways, i've been busy with school, (yes, highschool lol) and playing #1 for the Varsity Tennis Team, (Dont hate!!) so i havent really had the time or money to do any mods. I start my new job Wednesday so hopefully i'll be able to post alot more on here!
 
Update::

I found some rims and tires in Duvall, WA that was a deal we couldnt pass up. So my dad drove 4 hours to get them, what a good father lol. Their Toyo Open Country A/T 265s with 16s. the rims are sweet but i think i want to paint them.
I'll get pics up soon!

and im now 21 had the same plans in the past 3 years so far 12" sub 31x10s elocker grill clear corner lights custom air intake. I got a bunch of parts half built but dont have the money for them. For the air filter keep the stock airbox just upgrade the pipe to the throttle body and a better filter. If you go with a filter you have to oil the MAF sensor likes to get dirty so it has to be cleaned every couple of months. The corner lights are year specific, there were 2 light sockets used so just because its the body style go for your half of the generation. The back seat bottoms can be unbolted and you can fit a single size bed in the back and could be really handy.

Thats what rims i have on now. their not chrome luckily. so what kind of prep would i have to do to paint them a glossy black?

remove them.. if you have the resources (they can be painted on the truck.. much easier when off IMO). Wash them then sand them down, use some sort of paint thinner/mineral spirit to clean them up nicely after sanding. Next prime them which will fill in any small blemishes from sanding and let the paint stick. after youve primed them pick your colour.. i always use krylon otherwise automotive rim paint. Give it a few layers until satisfied (using gloss black for you) and if youd like.. i never have because i dont like the outcome, you can clearcoat them. If you take them off use a deck of cards like so :) Good luck!

Sweet! Thanks so much, would i sand them by hand? if so what level of sandpaper?
 
You could probably hand sand with 220. Maybe work your way up to 400 ish and then prime. Primer will cover up any imperfections at 220 so the rest is just personal preference.
 
I sanded mine with, first a drill, then by hand. then cleaned them with paint thinner, then 2 coats of primer, then 2 coats of satin black, and last but not least clear coat.

HAHA!! I was hoping someone would notice that. I got it for my friends birthday and he just put it on my mirror. The girl who sold em to me said they were off a 4runner. MB Motoring is the brand. This style of wheels are discontinued tho.
 
Dude, awesome 4Runner. From a fellow young 4runner driver, I know how you feel! I've got a list of **** I want to do to mine but don't have the money to do any of it :( haha

What size wheels/tires do you have? They look good and my truck looks really similar to yours (with the light body color/black door handles). Eventually I'd like to upgrade to something that looks like that.
