With about 75% city, and 25% hwy the average is around 14.5MPG on our 3/2 lifted V8 AWD on 265/70/17's.

I agree to a certain point that driving style can make or break mileage, but our vehicle is driven conservatively with no quick starts, and no speeding at all.

You're in Sac, and that is a completely different world as far as terrain is concerned from me on the peninsula in the bay area. I'm completely surrounded by hills, and everywhere you go is half a city block between stoplights. I envy your mileage in a serious way. The lack of economy is what's been tempting me to sell this vehicle.
 
I average 18.1 mpg combined city and HWY in Sacramento
19 mpg in Fresno
as low as 12 mpg in San Francisco LOL!
 
We can post all day about city/hwy mpg, but the landscape of the land really has an effect on mpg. For example, someone driving 100% hwy in the hills of Colorado, is going to have a dramatic difference than someone driving 100% hwy in the flatlands of California (a particular strech of hwy 5 comes to mind).

That being said, that's why I like the site truedelta.com. It's user submitted data for each make and model, but also takes into account variable factors such as:
Land (Topography)
Foot (How much of a lead foot you are)
A/C (A/C use, heavy medium or light)
Traf (how much time is spent in traffic)
City (how much time is spent in city)
Sub (how much time is spent on suburban roads)
Hwy (how much time is spent on the highway)
Hwy Spd (avg hwy speed)

Ok,.. so it's a bit obsessive/anal retentive, i'll admit, but it really puts some context on the numbers that are being thrown around.

'03 V-6 (4 speed auto, not the 5 speed which was used starting in 2005 on the V-6?) w/Bridgestone Revos:

Actual calculation:
15.9-16.3 mixed (with hills)
19.3-20 highway (typically flatter terrain than my mixed travel areas)

Noticed Revo's cost me about .5 to.75 MPG over "old baldy's"

Also of note, I drive the same 380 mile round trip about 10 times per year which gives me a consistent highway calculation during different seasons with both winter and summer formulation gas. My route used to be about 50% 55MPH and 50% 65 MPH. When the speed limit was changed, this same trip is now about 25% 65MPH and 75% 70 MPH. Calculated mileage was 21.5 to 22.3 under slower speed limit, but with higher speed limit 20 MPG is my max. 65 MPH and up really starts to kill the mileage.
 
Since new until now:
Low: 15.44 mpg (all city miles, stop and go)
High: 23.39 mpg (all highway, driving around the Sierras)
Running average: 19.43 mpg (75% highway, 25% city)
 
16-16.5 city

17-19 hwy depending on speed and traffic on the current set up

OP, you failed to mention if those #'s are from the on-board or by hand. If the on-board, most people see about 2-2.5 MPG high.

There are so many variables that you have to rely on many, many data points and know what differences you've encountered from tank-full to tank-full.

I do a lot of back country road driving and I average 20 MPG. But the best economy is at a steady 45-55 MPH where I can average 24 MPG, pump-to-pump. Mileage on my ride begins to drop off significantly at speeds over 60 MPH. At 70 MPH steady highway I get 19 MPG. Towing my bass boat at 70 MPH I get 13.5-14 MPG (I just hauled the boat from Chicago to Mississippi). ALL hand calculated.
 
I get right around 19-20 mpg combined (calculated), which the optimistic readout thinks is closer to 21-22. I haven't done a long freeway haul yet, but have one coming in a couple weeks. I tend to drive easy around town, because I hate paying for fuel.

just went on a short 200 mile highway trip and averaged 22.7 maintaining 75 mph..... city wise i get 18.8

btw 2008 sport edition v6
 
according to the computer readout, my last interstate cruise ranged from 31-34mpg. definitely wrong there but funny to see none-the-less. (reset the computer readout at speed and let it record for ~1 hour).

im curious to what it really was, but i didnt think to reset the trip meter and do the calculation by hand :(
 
I'm averaging about 13mpg... I have no idea why it's so low. I don't drive super crazy. Even when I treat it like my gma would I still can only eek out 15.
 
The info screen says I'm averaging 19.1 city/hwy mixed driving. Dips up and down from 18-21 most of the time, but as previously mentioned I'm sure this is an optimistic readout.
 
cough* all 2wd v6 gets about 30mpg if u go 35-40mph for about an hour@1200ish rev without stoping ofcourse, cough*

headers diffenatly droped my mpg to 18 from 20 mixed. cant get it any less. i take that back i prolly could



ps LOL@10mpg guy (take off ur ebrake and maybe ull get 8mpg better LOLs , just yanking yer tr4)
 
I get anywhere between 18 and 20 depending on where i drive and how i drive. With only a 1" lift from FJ springs, i cant complain at all.
