Your Favorite Camping or Wheeling Piece of Equipment or Gear

I'm not talking about what is essential (i.e., recovery gear, a sleeping bag, a flashlight, etc.) or what is a really good idea to carry (i.e., first aid kit, tire gauge, spare tire, etc.), but I'm curious to hear what your favorite piece of gear or equipment is that has made life on the road/trail or life at camp so much better that it makes you wonder why everyone doesn't have one? some piece that you would absolutely recommend to fellow enthusiasts.

For me it's the Trasharoo. Previously I hung a garbage bag or plastic grocery bag from my antenna or mirror, but having the trasharoo made life just so much easier, even for one-nighter trips. It doubles as a fire wood carrier and now I don't have to carry dog poop inside the rig during the trip lol.

Totally and absolutely worth every penny. Extra side pockets holds my gas can spout so no worry about fumes or smells of gasoline inside the rig.

Lay it on me, let me know what else I didn't know I needed in my life!

My arb 2000 awning.... It fits perfect on the ractory roof rack.. no wind noise and is sooo easy to deploy anywhere.. It was difficult to decide if i should mount it on the passenger or driver side..... i may just put one on both sides..

I kinda had to think about for a second and then realized the answer was quite simple...

My ARB fridge / freezer easily tops the list as a luxury item that really adds a new level of convenience and flexibility.

I went on a 2 week long trip never needing to re-up on ice... plus the ability to go past basic cooling to being able to freeze and keep frozen stuff frozen is a pretty nice thing.

Things stay dry, bread keeps a lot better, I have way more room not having to actually leave space for ice, better food saftey... food saftey became apparent after getting sick on another trip made me see value in being able to hold a temperature.

Even for daily use... I run errands sometimes and now I can actually go to Costco and not have to rush home to drop off goods. I can do stuff in any order without worrying about food going bad.

Performance was amazing in blistering Vegas heat... 108 in the car, 13F in the freezer.

I would have to say this. No, its not a road shower, and yes those are cool, but you can simply pressurize this with your foot. You are not limited to being right next to your car or trailer and it folds up very nicely. When I go ride and camp at a state park, I take this for after ride showers and washing off dishes and such.

Our sleeping platform we built. After building it and fitting our full size folding mattress, I don't think we could be any more comfy out on the trails.

My french press. My conical burr grinder. Some great beans from my local roaster. The grinder runs off the 300W 20 buck amazon inverter that I hard wired and made a custom acrylic panel for in my 3rd gens under radio pocket.

All the other stuff I carry is pretty sweet but none of it means shit until I have my coffee. lol

Too many cool non-essential things to name. I second the ARB fridge as number one! A total luxury. We have the 63qt which is longer rather than taller so I can even see out my rear window. NEVER need to worry about ice, draining the water, sandwiches getting soggy, etc...ARB 2400 awning with the room addition. No RTT to increase the CG and make my rig top-heavy. Still have complete use of my rack. Nice full size room I use as a tent. My Lumitec Nevis engine bay and Rigid Industries lights in the rear cargo bay...and the list goes on...

For me, it is the tarp. This is the single, most versatile bit of gear to carry. Roof, ground cover, rain shelter, you name it. I've used a tarp for so many different things, I don't even think about it, there is always at least one in my truck at all times.

A tanto knife. It can be used as a knife, prying tool, screw driver, bottle opener, etc.

I always keep these in the driver door.
They're great for stray branches on the trail less travelled.
They're also great for gathering kindling.

I've even cut my way through a 3-4" branch with them, bit by bit
