You're in the last stages of pulling the trigger on a new set of AT tires on your rig? FYI America's Tire / Discount Tire has a $75. rebate for an installed set of their "Best Rated" tires, from June 27th through June 29th.

On the 4 Runner that definition (may depend on your area) pulls up some very popular AT choices:

1. BFG KO C Rated

2. Michelin LTX M/S 2 P Rated

3. Goodyear Duratrac C Rated

4. Goodyear Duratrac E Rated

5. Hankook Dynapro P Rated

6. Nitto Terra Grappler P Rated

7. Cooper Discover ATP P Rated

BFGs or Hankooks. I have the Toyo AT2 extreme on my F150. They are smooth, balance very good but they are pretty loud. Like mud tire loud above 65 mph. I think the regular version is quiet though.

Why would you buy a tire that has not gone through Toyota's extensive OEM testing? After all, I'm pretty sure that you recently stated that no third party manufacturer can afford to Toyota's rigorous development process... :thumb:

first thing I did when I picked my 2014 Trail Edition up, I had it in the tire shop 3 days later. i went with BFG A/T KO, love em. ill be swapping em out for Nokians for the winter though.

In my opinion, i think its rather silly that the TRAIL edition doesn't come with better tires in the first place, but i suppose it lets everyone go with what they want to put on.
 
No doubt it would be number one but I would wait several months for the new version to come out. All New BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 in the Works - Four Wheeler I had BFG all terrains on my last 4runner and beat them in the desert and they still had a lot of tread after 40k miles. Never had a puncture after many off road miles and were pleasant on the street. I have tried other off road tires in the past on my Jeep Wrangler but most were disappointing and wore out to quick. When I am ready for all terrain tires on my 14 they will be BFG all terrains.
 
But which ones have the "snowflake" designation. That's what sells tires, at least around here.
 
BFG KOs are reserved for mall crawlers in my neck of the woods - good in sand, but useless in the mud around these parts.

I have Duratracs on my 'Runner - I chose them because we've had nothing but great luck with them on a fleet of 50+ Super Duty Fords at work.

I've also had really good luck with Nittos on my Tundra - I ran Mud Grapplers, but I'm sure the Terra Grapplers are similar in terms of quality.

Skip the P rated altogether.
