I've been pretty lazy and haven't done anything in a while. Small thing, I just got a new aFe air filter. I had a S&B air filter in there before but I didn't feel like messing around with oiling it and possibly oiling it too much. I went with the aFe Pro Dry S because all you have to do is wash it in soap and water to clean it and it never has to be oiled.

Finally wired my fog lights that I got over a year ago, didn't really need them and don't really need them but they were free. Also replaced bulbs with LED bulbs from vleds which I don't see them have any more on their website.

Wanted to powder coat the sport skid black but I got a quote of $75 and I don't have $75 to spend right now and just wanted to black it out already, so I just painted it.

I posted this awhile back when I re-did my seats but I finally put the switches in for the drivers side and wired them both up. As expected the fans aren't spectacular but I can feel them. It would be better if I could afford actual Katzkin leather seats and get perforated leather. I am still thinking of running some vacuum line from behind the dash to bring air under the seat but there isn't much room left for that so I'll see about that.

I pulled back the stock leather and put seat heaters and seat coolers. Looking at the seat coolers, I'm not expecting much because they are these tiny little fans. One idea I have to make them better is to tap into the A/C vents and run a hose up into the seats to behind the fans but I'll see how these work first. I put them on the seat backs and bottoms but only have pictures of the backs.

I picked these up from Auto aftermarket carbon fiber seat heater,seat cooling system

Their prices have gone up since I bought them, I think I paid like $100 per seat for the heaters and fans.

I have yet to put in the drivers side switches or wire either seat up yet so I don't know how well they work.

So I ****ed up. In an attempt to fix the led strips in my corner lights I happened to leave one in the stove for too long and the plastic lens deformed. Pretty pissed off about it so I just threw it away without taking a picture of it. So I was in need of new corners for the time being, and for some reason the 99-02 clear corners are no longer available anywhere. I bought some 96-98 clears from ebay for $30 and blacked them out. Since I blacked them out you can't tell they look different. Not too happy with how they look but it's going to have to do for now.

That interior is sick man I really like it! How is it holding up ? And did you just paint over the leather on the dash? Also what's the plan for the door panels ? And how much did your interior recolor cost ? I'm really thinking about doing it since it looks so good

Thank you. Its holding up ok. I followed all the steps and cleaned and sanded. Its obviously not scratch resistant but nothing is and wasn't expecting it to be. There are certain spots that are scratched from abuse. I'd still rather have this than the ugly brown though. It could easily be touched up though when needed.

Yes I just painted over the leather on the dash. You can use the same SEM color coat for everything, it's just different prep products.

As for the door panels, I plan on reupholstering using new black leather and vinyl and then painting just the lower portion of the doors. I found black locks and door handles on eBay that were used in different Toyota models.

I actually did a rear door panel a long time ago to see how easy it would be to reupholster and paint and it came out pretty good. The only problem was I didn't use a high heat enough glue and the vinyl/leather started peeling off. Before I start on my door panels I am going to need a new door panel and vinyl/leather, which I don't have money for right now. You could use the paint on the leather of the door panels, and even the seats, but I don't want to use it on something that I will put my arm or be sitting on, just seems weird to me.

As for cost, I am not good at keeping track of what I spend on stuff. If I did keep better track then I probably wouldn't do as much as I do if I realized how much I was actually spending. Haha. SEM stuff isn't cheap though, I think its been around $250 in prep and paint materials so far and I am probably going to need a couple more cans for the doors.

Thank you and hahaha. I was really looking for some seat coolers and the heaters just came as part of the kit. My wife's Jetta came with seat heaters and they have been put to use a few times a year.

Havent done much recently. Last week I took a camping trip up to Dinkey Creek in the Sierra National Forest, it was around 650 miles round trip. Before I left I changed the oil and coolant and finally installed the Stant 170 thermostat. My temps had been around 205-210 and the highest I got on the trip through the mountains was 196. I also bought the cheap elm wifi adapter and Dashcommand app for the iPhone. It works pretty good and to my surprise, and dont know how, but it shows vacuum pressure and boost.

Dinkey creek. It's by Shaver Lake. Maybe an hour or so south of Yosemite.

It's taken a few years, first got the black carpet 3 years ago, last year finally did the trim pieces, and now I finally finished the door panels. I now no longer have any brown left in the truck and the black interior is complete. I still need to fix the piece around the shifter and paint that though.

I separated the vinyl top piece and plastic lower piece of the door panel. The only thing that was painted was the lower plastic. The top part, I bought some foam and vinyl from Joann Fabrics for $30 and reupholstered those myself. I was able to find black door locks and black door handles on ebay from other toyota models. I think like $10 for the locks and $20 for the door handles. Also found a pack of 10 of the black push pin like clips that on hold on the door panels on the side for $5.

Hey man sweet build! I'm impressed with how much stuff you just take apart and put back together... Multiple times. How's the paint job holding up? Any issues at this point worth noting?
